They’ll never sponsor him.
Gary Neville definitely had a sticky crotch over Palmer today. He was outstanding though.
He would be good, if he didn’t cheat so often…and it’s taken 18 games to score…for some wonder boy…that’s not very good stats…he’d get slated in an LFC team…
Consistency is an issue with him, but he’ll be 23 years old in a few days, so he does have time on his side to make the next step over the coming years.
He’d best hurry up…Trent is 26…look what he’s done.
My opinion on him still stands.
One goal (penalty of course) in his last 20 games for this generational talent.
talk about a poorly run club. That’s 14 ‘first team’ players (plus Sancho) they are trying to flog:
"A host of outgoings are factored into Chelsea’s planning and it is understood they are open to offers for Noni Madueke. The England winger joined from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and scored 11 goals in all competitions last season but there is a feeling the 23-year-old’s development has stalled. Christopher Nkunku and João Félix, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Milan, are other attackers up for sale. Benfica are trying to sign João Félix on loan before the Club World Cup.
The goalkeepers Robert Sánchez and Djordje Petrovic are on the market. Renato Veiga, Ben Chilwell and Axel Disasi are out of favour in defence and Wesley Fofana’s fitness problems mean suitable offers for him will be hard to turn down. Chelsea tried to sell Trevoh Chalobah last summer.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu are available after making little impression in midfield and Raheem Sterling, who has two years left on his £325,000 a week contract, has no future at the club after a disappointing loan at Arsenal."
Because he’s waiting for his Clearasil to arrive.
Next?
Good grief, two years left at 325k for Sterling. What a millstone. Hard to see what the next step is for him. After Arsenal, I think he is done in England, midtable and down is no place for a speedster who cannot run that much these days and has woeful finishing. A slower league might let him use what remaining pace he has, but he doesn’t seem like a figure who could go to a Valencia or the like.
suitable offers for him will be hard to turn down sort of begs the question
Can he play wingback ?
I remembered he was touted to be a great talent but unfortunately chose to go to Chelsea, still at 21, I think his next move will decide he can still make it at a top level or just another talent that could have been.
Todd and his Chelsea regime have got to be one of the worst reckless financial train wreck. Just take keepers for example, they seem to want to go after Mike Magnian which by all means is a very good keeper. But they still have Kepa on their books contract wise. They bought Sanchez and Petrovic for a total of 30m only to loan out the latter months later. Then the following year spend 20m on a young keeper who looks nowhere near to be near to being first choice. How many keepers do they really need? They are just spending recklessly to plug holes without really understanding what the hole is.
Fify
Maignan is a solid keeper, so that move would not quite be as stupid as ManU’s Onana purchase. But I have little doubt that Milan would be delighted to take a big fee off Chelsea’s hands and move on to the next keeper.
Maignan is no better than someone like Henderson/Prickford.
Yet Meelan extract 25m for him with the same length of time on his contract as Kelleher. Annoying
Well evidently a first choice keeper has extracted more cash.
Really we are about to spend 120m and all people can do is moan.
£120 million is not enough! We need to be spending £250 million to keep up with the Premier League champions!
