Next will be selling their academy team. And next. Not many levers that can be pushed after that
This is an interesting take on Chelsea’s player trading strategy

In short, Chelsea buy players with the sole intention of selling many of them to generate the revenue they need in a subsequent year to fund that summer’s purchases. It’s a cash flow exercise. The confusion is that they should be undermined in this by everyone knowing they are a distressed seller and NEED the money. Rory’s take is the sheer volume of players Chelsea have on offer negates that…try to drive too hard a bargain with them and they will have already sold enough of their other available players to get to where they need to, allowing them to stand firm and dictate the terms of every deal they are negotiating.
It’s basically what Chelsea did with their loan brigade earlier into Roman abrahmovitch’s tenure.
Except that they are spending money to get the rights to the players and then use them as pawns in their balancing the books act.
They figure that by drying up the pool of available players , by purchasing them , they not only increase the value of those players but also force other clubs into spending more for other players.
Goalies don’t have as much value so I wonder if that’s why they don’t go there.
Think they got bitten with the kepa purchase.
Did they have something like 7 on their books last year or the year before?
Its all you have personal insults. Come on mods do something about it.
Show me where exactly?
If anything, the mods should ban you for trolling.
Ben Chilwell has agreed a two-year contract to join Strasbourg, who have the same BlueCo ownership as Chelsea, on a permanent basis.
The England international will sign a two-year contract which is the same as the remaining length of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Nothing to see here, just some more entirely legitimate and in no way odd transfer business ![]()
He will also definitely not proceed to move to a new club in january as well…
“It is a dream to move to Strasbourg, everyone neanear the Rhine region know how big this club is and I can’t wait to play in the best league in France.”
Chelsea being hit with 74 charges spanning over a decade ![]()
Chelsea have been charged by the FA for alleged rule breaches during the Roman Abramovich era.
The club has been hit with a total of 74 charges relating to alleged breaches of rules on agents, intermediaries and “third-party investment in players”.
The alleged breaches relate to conduct between 2009 to 2022 and primarily between the 2010-11 and 2015-16 seasons.
Only 74 charges? Chelsea are what you get when you order Man City from Temu ![]()
Must be running out of back hander money at the fa …i mean what Abramovich was the start but everything about the current lot is more dodgy and nothing …
We all know they’ll just get a slap on the wrist rather than expulsion or points deduction etc.
The fact this was done under the former criminal regime and was reported to the authorities by the new owners is expected to significantly mitigate the penalties they get
This is ridiculous. Teams basically have to admit to illegalities or have damning evidence leaked before the FA has any clue that anything illegal is happening. What a waste of time.
Doesn’t mitigate the fact that Roman effectively wrote off all his loans to Chelsea. These guys have started with a clean slate and have essentially had a get out of jail card.
The fact that the FA allowed this to happen is a disgrace.
Why are players still signing for these plastic toxic shits. There are so many examples of how they treat players the worst of any club - this is just the latest:
