There will be some rotation naturally, but some sort of a main attack will have to be formed. Injuries permitting of course. Especially for the league as we might heavily rotate in EL group stage. We finished the season with Salah, Gakpo having the central advantage over Nunez and Jota in better form than Diaz. For the start of pre-season, I think for Klopp it will be important who shows the best attack/defence package in pre-season.
I wonder whether, for certain games at least, weâll field four attackers at once. If we continue with Trentâs hybrid role, and with Gakpo able to drop back into midfield a little like Bobby, we could see something like a 4-3-3 out of possession, 3-3-4 in possession kind of system.
So the latter looking a bit like:
Konate, Virgil, Robbo
Trent, Fabinho
Mac
Mo, Gakpo, Nunez, Diaz
Then transitioning into more of a:
Trent, Konate, Virgil, Robbo
Fab, Mac
Gakpo
Mo, Nunez, Diaz
That is one of the permutations. But the other role on the other side is another. I donât see Mac playing at the base that much, but itâs a role he has played to good effect as well so pulling him back to sit alongside Trent is another lever to pull if weâre really trying to get attacking creative players on the pitch. Could look something like
If Darwin starts putting some of his easier chances away⊠that ends any confusion as to who starts every game⊠No-one will get to his figures⊠Thinking back to some of the golden chances he had last season, be frightening when he gets the knack of tapping the ball home
Yeah, I feel thereâs such a general fear of him not making it here (and itâs not like he necessarily needs to flop or be a massive success, he can be good for a short period but not good enough long term), that we are looking at every possible detail and giving ourselves hope. We should just relax and see what happens in his second or third season, if he gets there. Realize that weâve had big successes and flops. There will be more of both. Sometimes we saw that very early, sometimes we believed and ended up disappointed, sometimes players went on to improve. Fanbases are generally more optimistic over their own players than reality shows. One thing is to support them, but where it matters, from the stands and these days directly on their social media accounts. Another thing is to be objective enough with ourselves and between us fans (and we donât have to be always, weâre no robots!).
Anyway the only words/phrases in English he needs to know are âyou fucking cuntâ for example when playing against Everton or Utd.
âyouâre a shit refereeâ for example anytime Taylor Pawson Tierney or Coote referees a game for us.
âon ya bike sonâ whenever Hendo yells at him to make a move.
and âshoooooootâ from the crowd right before he smashes it in the back of the netâŠshortly followed by âyou sexy pony tailed bastardâ from the crowd when he goes over to celebrate with them.
