Darwin NUNEZ: 2022/23

Dunno you’d probably only get 1 on a Saturday afternoon.

Don’t think they will miss this opportunity to fuck us over, 5 match suspension.

Depends on which team it is.

He might get 4 as he refused to leave the field straight away.

Saying that it was dumb and silly, a push back fair enough but what he did was stupid. I will have no complaints even if it hurts the team.

Only hard and fast rule is 1 game, but is typically upgraded to 3 for a straight red of violent conduct.

It’s 3 games and a £55 fine in the FA Rules, but not leaving the field can result in an extra 1.

They could deem it unprovoked and add more but it’s hard to argue it was.

I’m probably really reaching here, but my impression from the reply was that Nunez doesn’t really actively headbutt him, he turns round to confront him and he’s right in his face. It’s hardly Zindane.

Mind you, Nunez does have a couple of nibbles at him with his head in the run up.

I agree. I said similar in the game thread. It wasnt a head butt motion, more of a chest bump. But their heads did contact because of it and he is responsible for that. I have gone on at lengths in the past about hating the use of the word head butt to describe shit like the red card Pepe got against Chelsea/Robben all those years ago, but Darwin deserves no defense - he tried a legit head butt just seconds prior, which is why Anderson went at him the second the ball went dead

I think he was wound up by his own performance. Such a weird game for him. Two sublime passes in the first half and then some horrible snatched finishing. Big chances missed which frustrated him. He is ultra raw. About as far from the finished article as you can get but there is talent there. He obviously needs to work on his composure not just in front of goal but also when being wound up by opponents.

Two great games as a sub and a shocker as a starter. Idiotic decision to headbutt and opponent and make himself a target for defenders for as long as he’s at the club. Also, he does that at the time when the team have sevem players out injured, including both other strikers (who are going through dry spells but still…). I’d snap him in two if I was his manager - thankfully, I’m not.

And he will.

It’s not too late to appeal the decision, right?

Was a blatant headbutt and he’ll rightly get a 3 game ban, and hopefully learn from it. He’s just drawn a massive target on his back for every neanderthal CB in the PL so he’s going to have to learn.

It blows my mind how calm Salah remains despite being kicked to shit every game. Would almost tempt you to explore Islam

Or yoga and meditation.

So, how many games will Darwin be banned for?

Yeah I was thinking about Salah when I went for walk after the match. I’ve never seen him react like that once.

He is vital next week by the way.

Which is why he rightly shoved him off. I have high hopes for Nunez but when he was already acting like a dick against a defender, maybe not try head butting him again afterwards when he pushes you off. Fairly indefensible behaviour. Few things makes me angry watching Liverpool, but that series of dick moves did.

Let us hope that he doesn’t do this stuff again and that he will be the player we hope he will be in the future.

Stupidity, naive. I hope this is an exception not a norm. Amongst other stuff like losing his footing, miscues which can be put down to nerves and lack of composure that can come with time, if he continues to let his stupidity runs his brains and react accordingly , he will not get any joy in this league. I hope Salah teaches him a thing or two about keeping your cool when the defenders want to rile you up and just let football do the talking.

head butt was ridiculous.

of more immeadiate concern is he general play up to that point.

im not convinced.

some pretty sloppy stuff. in both games so far, all the plaudits from the Fulham game to me were more down to the in game situation than anything Nunez forced on them.

3 game ban and hopefully Haaland gets a few in those games (and they still lose) to put a bit of daylight between the two so this ridiculous debate and hyperbole is finished early as a ‘thing’.

then he can work on his first touch and fitting into the team with a bit of time on his side.

It was not even a proper headhunt but that cunt from Manchester could not wait to send him off. The moment they send her I knew we were in trouble.

Monday we will see that other Manchester cunt Taylor, you can wait for it.

I’ve never even seen him exchange verbals. Just ignores them and gets on with it. Clyne shoved him over the advertising boards last night and he just shrugged it off
