I think they definitely want him and can afford the high fee. I’m not sure how they would convince the player but they could throw the agent a nice bonus if he talks Nunez into signing for them.
Also have to remember what kind of club United are. I’m sure 90% of the reason they want him is because City signed Haaland and we are after Nunez and they want to show they are still a club who can compete with us and sign the high profile players.
We are much the better team. That is clear to everyone. We are also in the CL. We have a special thing going on under the best manager in the world. Three CL finals in the last five years. Nunez will want that, so I’m not worried about Man Utd interest.
They can probably offer more wages if they want to, but so long as Nunez is advised properly, we will offer a good initial wage, with bonuses on top, and he can earn even more in his next contract if he does the business for us. The way we improve players will also catch his eye, as at 22 he will want to maximize his potential and could go all the way to the very top.
Ten Hag will, I’m sure, want to try to get in his ear and tell him about how he will refresh Man Utd, telling Nunez they are going to finish top four and then kick on from there again.
That may or may not be the case though.
It would be a major surprise if Man Utd finished ahead of Man City or Liverpool next season. And they are going to have a hell of a fight on their hands to be on a level with Chelsea or Spurs, who are both better and both have money to spend. And maybe a young Arsenal side will fight better for top four as they have built up some crucial experience in narrowly missing out. And how high will Newcastle go, once they implement their own cheat codes? Probably still too soon for them to trouble the CL reckoning, but that’s only a matter of time.
All this is to say a LOT will have to go right for Man Utd to finish top four next time, and I would give them about the same odds of finishing in any of the spots from fourth to sixth, carving those places up with, probably, Spurs and Arsenal.
Even if it was happening, why would Ten Hag be going to meet the agent in Portugal, especially at a time we have good video conferencing available? Surely it’s for the money men to do any travelling, whilst Ten Hag sits at Carrington working out how the fuck Maguire is an £80m CB. I call total BS on the travel story. On United being interested, yeah I’m sure they are - but that means fuck all.
Yeah, I think think the flight bit is just to add a bit of authenticity to the tweet, but actually only serves to make the whole thing look like bullshit.

Nunez wants Anfield, he wants Liverpool, and he wants cl football. Mendes just being a greedy cunt - Mendes trying to force his way into the Diaz/Spurs deal is what killed it for them and enabled us to get Diaz. Hopefully him turning up doesnt have a similar impact on us getting Nunez.
The talks with ten hag should be a quick “fuck off you dozy sod, why would he slum it with you?”
