I am hopeful too, certainly my heart is, but I try to rein in my head when it comes to matters of grave importance and think rationally. War and peace, stuff like that, those matters are too important not to use your entire intellectual capacity. So I force myself to consider just the evidence. I think the US will remain FUBAR sociopolitically for a long time.
