Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

  1. Shouldn’t the tweet really read “These are the countries whose leaders haven’t congratulated Biden on his election win, publicly

  2. Does it matter?

I agree. That was a major concern of mine with regard to Trump. Climate wise the world is screwed unless the US starts to take it seriously.

Sadly I don’t think the noise from the Trumps / Farage’s etc. stops after this election. That is still a real worry.

Exactly.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, my theory would be based around the manipulation of the masses to expend so much energy and time analysing such banal irrelevant issues…

If I was…

Very much, a steady ship if you like.

Worth noting that I’ve seen some that are still concerned with his appointment - War mongering has been quoted in things I’ve seen.

The distrust of politicians is so high people will happily accept the disgusting alternative.

There is irresponsible approach to reporting about the Vaccine, also isn’t the stock market up because he lost, I read the markets had started to boom expectant on Biden winning sometime last week.

Anyhow apparently a Kremlin official is waiting for the votes to be counted… Lolz

The markets are up because of the election, but they are also up today on news of the vaccine. Both sets of news are removing some of the uncertainty.

If you tar him with even the most extreme criticisms of the Obama administration on these issues, then on every issue Trump has been considerably worse. The US President will always be stuck in international issues caught between a shit decision and a different shit decision. With Trump on these issues, just as was the case at home, the cruelty was often the point.

One of the biggest criticisms of the Obama administration in this area was the drone program. But this was an evolving arena of conflict and they constantly reviewed how they should conduct themselves and started putting rules in place to govern its use. Trump came in, ripped up those rules, massively escalated the use of drones and did so largely because he fucking loved it.

For those who don’t like what America does in foreign conflicts, I’m sure there will be elements of a Biden presidency worthy of criticizing. But make no mistake, Trump was not the solution to these issues either, despite the conventional wisdom that he didnt get involved in these issues.

Nah, they ditched him long ago. Kreml will not at all, in any possible way, help Donald Trump when it looks like he is not winning. Russian state controlled newspapers even ran positive Biden stories the last few days.

It is all about smoothing relations and turning down the heat now. Donald Trump has already done them a great service by destroying the US sociopolitically. They don’t need him any more, and haven’t needed him for quite some time. In fact, he has annoyed Kreml a lot with his foreign policies lately.
So they are cashing in the chips.

Note also how Vladimir Putin personally, just totally crashed the Hunter Biden Ukraine-Russia conspiracy. He didn’t need to do that in such a blunt manner. As far as the Kreml is concerned, Trump is finished and have done his job.

No I agree. For me, without knowing the ins and outs of what exactly the US has been up with regard to their drone programme etc, simply having Trump in charge of a massive army and arsenal of weapons is lunacy.

It’s true that American foreign policy is often question and often brought up as the main driver for these feelings. I can understand that, it needs work, but Trump was never going to do any good on that front. He was too busy cuddling up to his buddies and screwing everyone else over to line his own pockets.

Thank you, President Biden.
