He has quite a good initial position, as after the big troll, he can only do better, at least as far as the perception from outside goes. On the other hand, nobody expects him to be the big saviour or anything like that, so that gives him some scope. Also, the fact that he’s at his job for only one mandate gives some credibility to the idea that he’ll make his choices in the best interest of the country (and hopefully of the world too!), and not for a potential re-election.
Of course, he’ll have to deal with a republican senate, and also probably with the orange troll continuing with his cheating claims, so that’s not ideal. Hopefully the judges will dismiss the latter claims with great strength, fingers crossed!
Is a possible reading of this that Donny wants to get some troops on the streets, to make it look like he is strong in the face of the deep state stealing his rightful crown?
Who knows, but as likely because of his earlier refusal to plan for US troops to be deployed to suppress BLM protests. Rumoured, but not confirmed. Or maybe just because Esper is proceeding with renaming bases currently named after generals who fought against the USA in the Civil War.
