If this was happening in the developing world, we would call it an attempt at a coup d’état…because that is what it is.
Just going say can we ween ourselves off reporting what Trump says he is no longer amusing.
Report what’s actually happening not what’s in the mind of someone who seems not all there.
10% of Trump voters believe he lost the election and Biden is the president. If the democrats can work on them, then that’s enough for a decisive majority.

Where’s the fun in that?
The 90% are a cataclysmic problem though.
Trump has, gravely, damaged my faith in American democracy.
The news was reporting that Barr had said that only genuine cases of potential fraud should be investigated, and not frivelent ones. Is that meant to frame every case they look at as being of genuine concern regardless of merit, or is he distancing himself from Trump slightly.

“We should ignore the frivolous ones! And when I say frivolous I do, of course, mean the ones cast in States where Trump only marginally won. Ignore those. The bad ones can only be found in Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada. Concern about North Carolina; it looks ok right now but it could change to being one of the illegal ones.”
All votes are equal, but some votes are more white than others
Trump campaign has filed an action that requests as relief the disenfranchising of all Pennsylvania voters.

Ronnie Jackson also said Trump was fit and 210 lbs.
I’m very concerned about the possibility of the affordable care act being struck down. It would wreck health care for many millions of people on a technicality (individual mandate, fine for non compliance $0, so whole thing to be challenged… and the case has won in lower courts, and now with a Republican majority in the Supreme Court I fear for the outcome).
I need to shop health insurance about now, for next year, both for me and colleagues. The ACA options are withering in anticipation of a bad ruling.
I’m also concerned about the damage Trump will do on the exit ramp. He was always going to do that, but to the degree he is helped by a complicit Barr, and numerous Republicans legitimizing his attempt to steal the election, is appalling.
A happy victory for Biden has quickly become a very concerning time for me.
Fuck sake, I just found out that I had completely misunderstood who had been brought in to run Trump’s legal strategy for challenging the election results. I had thought it was David Boise, a once superstar lawyer who argued Gore’s case through the courts in 2000. Initially it was a head turner given his Democratic party association, but Trump has made some strange bedfellow and Boise’s star has fallen in recent years because of age and, notably, associations with Epstein and Weinstein.
However, I just figured out it is the Citizen’s United activist, David Bossie. Known criminal, political hack and not actually even a lawyer. Only the best people.
@RedOverTheWater I think the insurance system is in for a very turbulent time over the next few years. Without the mandate, the whole structure of the ACA doesn’t work. And without a viable alternative way of replacing that funding I think we’re likely to experience some significant increases in our costs. But even if the rest of the ACA holds, and Biden gets his public option approved (it wont) then I think the reorganization that will have to occur from a practical perspective will be huge in a way that sees us experience some significant changes in our healthcare experiences.
As for the transition fuckwittery, I think there are people missing the point of this. Yes it is a petty move perpetrated by a someone bullied into not doing their job for fear of retribution. But poor transitions can cripple an administration. I think the Bush team would have not responded well regardless given their ideological bent, but their slow transition in 2000 (because of the recount) has been identified in a significant factor in not being ready to deal with the 9/11 intelligence. We are in a current national security crisis and any issue with transition will handcuff our ability to deal with this. But I think the bigger issue is it creates an opening for foreign actors to take steps they otherwise wouldnt knowing that the US is not ready to respond.

How is trump can destroy affordable health care and still win 70m votes?
I know there’s similar things going on here in the UK, I just find it all extremely bizarre.
