Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, the law firm leading the Trump campaign’s efforts to cast doubt on the presidential election results in Pennsylvania, abruptly withdrew from a federal lawsuit that it filed days earlier on behalf of President Trump.

“Plaintiffs and Porter Wright have reached a mutual agreement that plaintiffs will be best served if Porter Wright withdraws,” the law firm said in a federal court filing.

The legal challenges seem to be going well…

There is joke among my lawyer friends that law school is 90% discussing hearsay. So I laughed at reading about the discussion in the case in Pennsylvania in which the judge had to walk Trump’s lawyer through understanding why their “evidence” was hearsay like they were bottom of the class first law students about to drop out of the program.

On the Democrats and their performance in the House elections.

With a few hundred ears now perked up, the Virginia Democrat proceeded to slam her progressive colleagues for flirting with two fads—“defund the police” and democratic socialism—that she said cost the party multiple seats and threatened to doom those who did survive in their future campaigns.
“When we want to talk about funding social services, and ensuring good engagement in community policing, let’s talk about what we are for,” Spanberger beseeched her colleagues. “We need to not ever use the words ‘socialist’ or ‘socialism’ ever again. Because while people think it doesn’t matter, it does matter. And we lost good members because of it.”

It’s a dumb criticism and it’s getting almost no pushback among the popular press. When you see the Bernie Bros act so annoyingly, this is at least part of the reason they get so pissed off. Not a single Democratic candidate ran on Defunding the police. If you get beaten by a campaign platform that not you and not even your party ran on, then the issue is you and your campaign. And yet these “private” comments from their caucus meeting are getting widespread play in the mainstream press with not an ounce of pushback on the validity of the argument.

It doesn’t matter if any House members ran on it. What matters is that it was identified as a leftist slogan, particularly when many Democrats either refused to criticize it initially, or were weak in their defense of the police. It certainly didn’t help when the mayors of Portland and Seattle refused to do anything about these protestors, or at least until they really got out of hand.

Here’s what Jim Clyburn has to say about this topic.

House Majority Whip Jim Clyburn warned his party is being destroyed by the “defund the police” movement that arose over the summer.
“‘Defund the police’ is killing our party, and we’ve got to stop it,” the South Carolina kingmaker said in an interview with CBSN Monday. It was a topic he said he and the late civil rights leader and Congressman John Lewis discussed.
“John Lewis and I were very concerned when these slogans came out about ‘defund the police,’” he said. “We sat together on the House floor and talked about how that slogan… could undermine the BLM movement, just as ‘burn, baby, burn’ destroyed our movement back in the '60s.”
…He went on to say that “we just lost Joe Cunningham,” a South Carolina Democratic House member who lost his reelection bid against Republican Nancy Mace. “And we lost him over ‘defund the police.’”

AOC defends her use of “defund the police.”

Exactly. If the rhetoric of the progressive/leftwing caucus hurt the house/senate candidates, why didn’t it hurt the presidential campaign/votes???
