Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

It doesn’t matter anyway. It is hard to be provoked anymore.
I mean, I voted for the party Red in the previous local municipality election and Labour in parliamentarian elections, so it is not as it the knife stabs hits particularly close to wherever. It doesn’t matter. If someone wants to think that I agree with neo-conservatives because I post their critical take on Trump and often find it more philosophically interesting than criticism from the left, then I don’t really care any more. Most people on this forum knows that I am not a conservative anyway, so no big deal.
I just like balanced takes from both sides, because I like to read and learn stuff. As long as most people, those I like to discuss with, knows my approximate political position, then that is what is important.
But I am probably going to continue to post Nichols now and then, because I find him interesting and very knowledgeable.

Posting another critical conservative take on MAGA, because I happen to agree with the assessment.

I find this very plausible.

Decimated means to kill one in ten.

Thank fuck we’re not at that point.

Oh, look at the historian over here.

One of the most frequently mis-used words. The origin is from the Roman Legions. Misbehaviour and desertion resulted in one random person in 10 being executed. Decimate literally means one in ten.

We all knew this, right? It’s not how it’s commonly used today though.

I know that. I know what deci means. The point was more that the US is worse than Europe is in general and that the Corona threat is incredibly bad in the US and getting worse.

Did I actually say / ask that?

Don’t worry, I’m not here to start an argument with you. I haven’t the will or the energy

Lindsey Graham tried to bully Republican governor in Georgia to , well, what the story says.

Here are some quotes I found in case people don’t have more articles left to read and don’t want to subscribe:

Priorities. The US has had over 1.5 million new cases of covid since the election, state governors who are taking responsible measures are necessarily pushing people into a precarious financial position, and instead of Federal support, Graham is interfering in state vote-counting.

Perhaps the most remarkable, for me concerning Graham, is how disloyal he has been to his supposed best friend in congress. Immediately, when McCain died, he went full “pretend-MAGA” (I say pretend because he is 100% fake and doesn’t believe in most of that crap,as he only believes in power it seems).

Yup. It’s better if Trump gets himself into office via backdoor and screw the country more - coz it didn’t elect Bernie.

Everyone except Bernie is shit anyway. Feel the Burn, country. :v:

You did say ‘correct term’.

Next someone will be playing fast and loose with their tithes, and before you know it…chaos.

Have you quoted the right post? There’s nothing about McCain in the post you’ve quoted.

Is everything ok? You seem very…angry. Constantly. It must be exhausting. It’s probably the international break, huh? I get it. Just hang in there. Not too much longer until we play Leicester.

Like I said…

Chaos.

Meanwhile, Bernie Sanders himself, is saying very sensible and intelligent stuff, like this:

In general, he has been saying similar stuff to the above for a long, long time. That some of his supporters seems lost in a glitch, in primary campaign mode, isn’t really his fault in my opinion. It is a shame though, given how destructive these people are, murdering all political alliances left and right.
