Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

That reminds of City supporters threatening with a big reveal that would rock the football world and bring down the Premier League.

Kind of still waiting for that one.

If you look in the mirror you would see a man who is directly responsible for the US election being so narrow that Trumplandia can got ammo for their anti-democratic legal coup attempts.
You don’t have the capacity to understand degrees of positives and negatives, to mirror the world in grey and not black and white and therefore you are not interesting to argue with.

phenomenally smug & utterly nonsensical–pretty much your brand. you want responsibility for me and amnesty for david frum. laughable

privilege is thinking a million dead iraqis are a ‘grey area’

Trump supporters who refuse to accept the election result, remind me of Everton fans, who continue to believe they are ‘a big club’. They’re both in complete denial.

The only time I have ever walked in a large demonstration march, the only time I felt that it was that important that I voiced my disgust at something a foreign government did, was at the onset of the Second Iraq War. I am a complicated person and not a shallow person. You are blissfully unaware that you dodged a bullet with Iran, that it was almost a coincidence that a major large scale war did not begin, which would have resulted in millions of people dead.
You were willing to roll the dice again, not taking into account the enormous excess deaths from Corona in the US, the fact that massive US infection also travels to other countries and that it is all entwined, not taking into consideration that a sharp turn into dark Nationalism, which rots in US society, means that future Social democratic or socialist policies, are far, far less likely since the climate will be even more hostile to it.

And that is all that I am going to say to the stuff you wrote here.

So, how long do you guys think it is going to be before Donald claims the honour for the latest NASA-Space-X rocket launch ?
I am sure he will.

Edit: Never mind, he already has. How utterly predictable:

lol you have absolutely no clue who biden is if you think he represents a bullet dodged w/r/t iran, or that he’s any more amenable to ‘socialist’ policy than trump

but obviously being clueless is not something that stops you from pontificating

You just don’t understand what I write and certainly not the implications of it. As an example, when I write that if Trump wins there will be a worse climate to later on impose Social Democratic or Socialist policies, it means that the growth of dark nationalism under another 4 years of Trump will make anything left of centre less probable in the future, it doesn’t mean that I think Biden is going to impose left leaning policies. For me, it is hard to argue or debate with someone who doesn’t understand such logic, since logic doesn’t work with you, at least not the logic I know. If you think Biden is likely to attack Iran, then you have misread the geopolitical situation, he isn’t going to attack Iran without Iran posing a far greater threat than they are today and he seeks a return to the Nuclear Pact which Trump broke. If you don’t understand these matters, then you don’t understand and it is apparent that nothing I say will make even a tiny dent in your Armour of Ignorance + 5

I don’t think there is a point in you and me discussing politics. We get nowhere. It is not constructive.

So feel free to reply with some sort of silly attack, but I am not going to continue this. Because try as I might to answer your posts, you are not receptive of logic.

Trump was doing really well until they stole the election from him.
If he had bigger hands he could have kept a better grip on it

Should have used some of those hair products he uses. “Stick like Shit” or something isn’t it?

One of the things I have found frustrating in recent months is the almost nihilistic take that just because Biden isnt the change agent many wanted (from the pre-trump status quo) that you can reasonably declare them as being as bad as each other and so the election doesn’t matter.

In that context, Jeremy Scahill did an interesting 7 part podcast series in the Intercept recently on Trump and how he fits into our system. It seems so much of our political commentary either says Trump is bad and acts like things will be fine once he leaves, or pretends that he’s largely irrelevant given it was such a dreadfully broken system that enabled him to rise in the first place. I thought this was a really good take of identifying where the pre-existing faults are that Trump merely extended while STILL taking Trump to task for his unique awfulness.

If European countries are getting clobbered, what is then the correct term for the US ? Decimated ?
Unbelievable that this sort of imbecile propaganda works.
