At the same time, an obscene number of American children will go to bed hungry tonight, so perhaps such an egregious misuse of money should not be laughed at.
I guess since they were goober dollars it would have just been used to fund some televangelist’s new Gulfstream or to harangue some teenager thinking about an abortion…maybe this is better…

It needs political reform as well. Same here in the UK. Our government were happy to pay a Spanish middle man with some twisted PPE deal £22m. That same value would feed kids lunch until Christmas.

You have to remember that except for maybe a bit more than 150k from COVID, not actually that many have died yet as a direct consequence of the GOP and Trump conspiracy theories. Just a few after all, not enough for real proper statistics !
You got to smash the odd egg to make a Republican omelet after all. Can’t expect every single bureaucrat to be able to sleep at night, the power of the the party takes priority when compared to the odd pesky civil servant feeling the heat.

3 star general. Formerly responsible for giving 4 star generals and NATO careful and balanced intelligence in Afghanistan, now riding the Trumpian wave off a cliff. He is not the only looney general in the US these days though. I suspect he is involved with manipulating the absolute imbeciles in Qanon personally, but that is my own theory based on his resume and previous writings.
