Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

Seems our ad-hoc wake may have been worth it !
Anyway, thank the gods for caffeine free coffee !

I note that CNN is still trying to make this super exciting. Wasserman has still not called the other race either, so there is that.

If Dems somehow pull this off, Biden should give Stacey Abrams the presidency.

That’s because you are actually watching a Game Show. I don’t blame you, I have them on myself, however, it is like watching the bad last two seasons of Game of Thrones. It’s all about milking the cow dry enough to kill her from inflammation of the udder. But that’s US news for you really. It is all the same, and CNN isn’t the worst, far from it. But it is still very, very bad and very noticeably “Game Showish.”

To be fair you are the biggest user of however when it comes to predicting matches

I recently got a slap from @SBYM, reminding me that I sometimes suck regarding football predictions. I note that when I tried to predict the Wolves vs MU game, I did note that it was very hard to predict. But yeah, I often get it wrong like everyone else, however , maybe I am not the worst ? But I probably wouldn’t do very well in fantasy manager or whatever that game is called that every football fan is supposed to try playing

Interesting - Cobb just added 20% of their total votes, and the County swung back from a surprising Dems +22 to about the 12% it was in November. That will cause some nail-biting.

Sighs but nods.
I was feeling the sensation of elation prematurely probably.

Ossof vs Perdue a bit too uncomfortable.

There are enough Dem votes in DeKalb, Chatham and Cobb to make it very likely to flip - and Fulton is usually really not good at estimating how many votes they have until late in their actual count.

That’s the one that did it for me. And while Tweets should always be taken with a grain of salt, this guy doesn’t appear to be someone who works at Breitbart and has a brain that runs on gasoline.

These “forecast guys” are pretty confident about the democrats now.

Ossoff-Perdue right now looks to me like a 0.6% Ossoff win, based on where the votes are left. Just out of recount range.

Assuming Fulton County doesn’t slap 55k more votes on the table in about an hour and a half.

What’s the percentage needed to avoid a recount (and the subsequent civil war)?

Yes, and it warms the heart. I am just slightly cautious still. Feels awful if you are convinced of a result and think it is incredibly important, and then it turns out to be premature.

Mr. Wasserman has called the race against that awful trumpian woman (Loeffler), but not yet the one against Perdue.

But it’s looking really, really good ! :+1:

Will we have an automatic recount then again?
