Trump has continually questioned the validity of the election, he has not ever sought to usurp power, by illegal means. Questioning an election result is not illegal.

Trump has been working incredibly hard at the latter paragraph. But yes, it is insurrection and sedition too. But if it had been a latin-American country, it would have been categoriced as a coup-attempt. A coup doesn’t have to be military in nature.

Ya what, for a coup, or even a coup attempt, there has to be a declaration of power. There was no such attempt, other than a wastelander dancing around in a dead animal hat. We’ll see over the next few days…but emotions seem to be running high at the moment. Trespassing on a Gov building, even the Senate, does not amount to a coup.
