as for why the vote is much closer than the pre election polls suggested;

Crazy times when I find myself agreeing with Ben Shapiro.

Good post.

I reckon that would be the first time I have ever agreed with something out of his mouth…

It’s also the first time I’ve ever seen / heard him use less than a gazillion words.

Maybe I’m getting ahead of myself but I’m feeling cautious optimistic about this election now, and that Biden will actually end up winning by a decent amount.

It’s utterly bizzare, how can Trump have the Latino vote? He literally wanted to build a wall to keep out Mexicans.

Fucked up counry.

Latino as a category obscures as much as it reveals. Florida Cubans are very different from Texicans, who are themselves very different from the Mexicans who migrate from Southern Mexico to the US, etc.

Biden never really got to them effectively compared to Sanders.

BBC are doing a really shoddy job of providing any context. This is basically how Trump wants the public to read the results this morning and ignore that Democratic votes will be in slower through mail and absentee ballots.

I couldn’t imagine any Democrate getting to the Cubans in Florida least of all Sanders.

Any reliable source/link to follow the election, anyone!!!

That’s true for Cuban-Americans in Florida, but he was demonstrably doing better with Latinos everywhere else.

Tbf, they are just presenting the numbers without commentary. I think that’s fair enough. If you want further nuance you can get it on their live feed.

From what I can gather there’s only 4 states left that can turn this.
Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina.
Biden is behind yet has a good chance of turning all 4.
If he gets Penn I think a resounding victory will be called (that’s the funny thing about US elections it looks close then suddenly it’s just not )
Michigan is probably for Biden.
Georgia and North Carolina are there just for fun (at least taht’s how I’m looking at it otherwise I get depressed).
