China won’t agree to it probably, but some sort of compromise which gives them at least Free Speech, is my hope. I am not sure it is possible, but I hope it will be.

More good news:

I guess these people will have to set up their own communications channels. They’ll probably call it something like “The Patriot”. An alternative is that they can go on Telegram, just like ISIS and Al Qaida and everyone who researches ISIS and Al Qaida.

When Hong Kong went back to China, the idea was a sort of two tiered system, but over the years that has been whittled away, to what we’ve seen in recent times.

Wait. They want healing and unification now?

Yeah, it’s a damn tragedy. I am not sure how we can stop them though. If all of the west was united with the same trade policy, maybe we could. But the problem is of course that China is a massive market. Great Powers are damn difficult to handle.
And as for the guarantee of Taiwan, no one really can guarantee it unless you include it in a nuclear umbrella, but that would have very large repercussions of course. There is a reason why the US does not directly guarantee Taiwan’s security and there is a reason why Taiwan is not getting the most advanced weapons.

This has to be Pelosi’s other worry. How do you trust security on Inauguration Day? That investigation needs to be expedited.

CNN reporting Pence isn’t opposed to the 25th but wants to keep it as an option in case Trump becomes “more unstable.”

Oh okay.

Progress is slow, but it is there, kind of.

Just posting this because it made me grin. Not very relevant, but amusing even so:
