Ding Dong.....the US Politics Thread (Part 1)

US politics (and the details behind) are not my strong point (what is?) so excuse the question. At what point does RDS throw his hat in and how is he then selected to be the GOP candidate for the big job? Thx

He may not even try now as its becoming pretty clear that he wouldn’t win and exposing his limitations on a national level may work out poorly for his future.

If he still wants to then he will declare this year and probably pretty soon. The selection is a vote among registered Republicans - the Primary - that takes place between February and June 2024.

Trump is going to win that primary easily, no matter who else is in it.

So in short, disregarding his opponent like Trump, has Biden done enough or not for re-election?

Great! Guess USA is still great. :ghost: :ghost:

Critical to this timeline as well is the Grossberg recordings allegedly have Cruz admitting prior to this that they have no evidence upon which to raise any objections. As I’ve heard it called before - a coup in search of a theory to justify it.

So much of this case is based on an interpretation of what is a reasonable course of action when [insert problem] has occurred. e.g. if the planet ping pong guy really felt Democrats were molesting children in that basement its not an unreasonable thing to have done what he did. Of course we know the Trump enablers were full of shit with their objections. What are now starting to see if the accumulation of evidence that can be used to undercut any argument they might have made for the legitimacy of their concerns…concerns that would have required unusual actions be taken if those concerns weren’t just completely made up.

Imagine my surprise when it turned out that Ali Alexander - one of the main pushers of “Democrats are child-eating demon pedophiles” has been approaching 15 year old boys for sexual favours.

It’s. Always. Projection.

Maybe we should check his basement.

And then blamed is on his battle with “same sex attraction”.

Even when they are outed are predators they find a way to flip it and pretend the issue is the homosexual urges, not the predatory behavior.

Do you think either/both of Fani Willis or Jack Smith would be prepared to indict sitting Congressmen in a wider conspiracy to steal the election notwithstanding the inevitable political whirlwind that such a move would unleash ?

But did he spill the beans ?

Pence has already spoken about the things that will interest the special counsel in his book. Will he just regurgitate that and remain economical with the truth to protect Trump out of fear of the repercussions , or will he , as an avowed Christian , tell the truth once he has the bible in his hand ?

I don’t think it is exaggerating the importance of his testimony to suggest that whatever he says could ultimately determine whether Trump is charged or not.

I forgot who I heard claim it, maybe Strozk, that he is unlikely to NEED Pence’s testimony, but getting it on record would be helpful to lock it in to deny him the opportunity to say something at trial that might hurt the case

Just one of the boys

In recent polls RFK, Jr. polling at 20% to Biden’s 62%. Not that Kennedy is any prize, but it shows a substantial amount of voters are seeking alternatives.

Its a Fox News poll…

There’s an Emerson College poll, too.

It’s conceivable that 20% would support any younger candidate.

Very few would consider Biden an ideal candidate, but the absolute priority is keeping Trump out of the White House and the Democratic party seems to believe that JB has the best chance of doing that.

IMO too early to tell. These polls indicate he may have to actually campaign, may actually have to debate other candidates in the primaries. RFK, Jr. and Maryanne Williamson are hardly legitimate candidates but have potentially 30% of early support against a sitting incumbent. Could be a warning sign. Anyway, no guarantee Trump will be the nominee either.

A quick glance shows that Bidens popularity fell sharply after signing the DEIA executive order. Says a lot! :see_no_evil:

As you probably noticed, I said ‘the Democrats seem to believe’. It’s not necessarily my opinion.

Biden’s announcement appears to be based on the belief that Trump will be the candidate and that seems a reasonable assumption at the moment.
