Doge isnt real. Every department already has offices within them that do the thing DOGE is supposed to do. One of the key leaders has already been kicked out. And now they get around the reality that DOGE isnt real by repurposing the Executive branch’s IT support department

This is part of what I am getting wound up about. He won, did so relatively uncontroversially (outside of the lies of the campaign) and so has fairly broad authority to make these sort of changes. That is what the election is about. But its the refusal of so many people during the campaign to accept that this was what he was going to do and the lack of accountability for Trump for acknowledging or denying it on a given day depending on what that audience needed to hear.

Musk has cases pending, either him directly or his companies, with about 6 different government agencies. Most if not all are seen as pretty much slam dunks. The only thing that can save him are just outright refusing to comply with whatever sanctions are levied, or getting the government to use discretion to no longer pursue them. Either way, owning a bit of the most transactional president in history is a much tactic than defending himself in the cases themselves

He got a lot of giggles for that one from journalists I suppose noone else knew what hé was talking about. Journalists didn’t see it fit to explain it. Yet no it wasn’t obviously to the ‘general’ public.
