All the racists, homophobes and misogynists will be crawling out of the woodwork now that Trump is back.

They’ve already crawled into Congress.

I am glad some of the debate on the Hunter pardon has finally shifted to the reality of Trump’s target list presenting awful choices for the Biden administration.

Biden should be out there talking to the public about it and explaining to them why such unusual actions are needed/being considered, but in textbook fashion he just isnt doing it and is instead letting MSNBC make his arguments for him.

This is kind of the perfect illustration of how Biden lost this election for the Democratic party. Surrogates are great but they cannot replace the principal as a messenger.

Is that a response to @Alright_Now_Legend post?

I have no expectation for anything from Biden any more. There comes a time when all of us will be past it, and while there were growing doubts, that Biden debate with Trump is just etched in my mind. I don’t want to be ugly about it, but he only seems lucid/fully present intermittently, and I just don’t see any ability left in him to make a strong case about anything.

On another thing, I don’t really understand why there is such a lag time between winning an election and then taking the job. The lag time is a good two and a half months. It leaves the sitting President with no real role, and it puts foreign countries in a strange position too, as they are not supposed to deal with the next President yet, but they all do, as they jostle for position/relationship/influence in keep with their geopolitical aims.

Not specifically.

Note that even the premise of the question should be a huge scandal for anyone else. The president is not supposed to be involved in these decisions. The only acceptable response to this question is to point to the importance of DOJ independence and commit to giving Pam Bondi, or whomever else becomes AG, room to run their department as they need to.

For all the credulous questioning of whether Trump is really that bad, this whole exchange is an illustration of how much damage he has already caused.

Still doesnt have a healthcare plan, but Obamacare stinks and needs to be got rid off, which is why he tried to get rid of last time around, yet it was also something he saved?

This twat was here yesterday for the re-opening of Notre Dame. I haven’t heard his voice since before the US election and avoided the wall to wall coverage yesterday.

I must say though , this did make me laugh ;

Chip has been one of the GOP’s biggest pursuers of Hunter Biden - when the bar for excusable behavior is higher for a private citizen than for a nominee of the head of the Department of Defense.

The Republicans don’t care about character. There was a time when the GOP cared about the content of a person’s character, or at least made a better attempt at doing that. Those days are long gone. Their embrace of Trump, and assorted/related scumbags, is ample evidence that character does not matter.

It’s even worse than that, as skill set and experience doesn’t matter any more either. You only have to look at the series of chumps and Russian assets Trump is stocking the shelves with.

The only thing that matters is whether or not Trump thinks you look good on TV, and crucially, whether or not you will bow down to him and serve him.

I suppose if I am being balanced, there is still a very small segment that cares about character, but you have to be incredibly bad, such as Matt Gaetz, for people to draw a line in the sand. Even then, the line was only drawn because of likely blowback and damage to the Party if his history came out more fully into the public domain.

Look, it’s perfectly acceptable for public officials to be alleged rapists if they’re Republican. USA! USA! USA!

It’s honestly not a world apart from the Duma at this point.

If your 5 year old came home from school and started talking like this about a word this simple they’d just learned in school you’d think you were in the process of raising a moron.

Hey look if big brain over there wants to turn the system for presidential elections to the popular vote than I am a big fan of that policy. What a fucking genius.

Police have arrested a person of interest in the Insurance CEO shooting. Based on his online record, he appears to be a guy with lots of confidently held opinions with very little political/ideological coherence of those opinions. Basically your average 20 something American male podcast listener.
