However, knocks sustained against FC Midtjylland in midweek mean Diogo Jota and Kostas Tsimikas must be assessed prior to the match at Craven Cottage, where the champions will definitely be without Thiago Alcantara, James Milner and Xherdan Shaqiri.
Can I just make the point that there are probably less games coming up than there has been for the last 8 or 9 weeks.
The only thing is the fact that all teams will be playing every 3-4 days in fact we get a break before Xmas and after new year while the league cup is played out.
The problem is that when Klopp rotates heavily, we tend to lose form and momentum and we tend to go a handful of games dropping points whilst the team try to regain their mojo
This is true but that heavy kind of rotation was usually reserved for domestic cup games, which Klopp doesnât particularly rate. This game was probably one of the rare ones where Klopp could afford to rest a lot of them, especially as Christmas schedule is looming large. Jota would have been invaluable against the likes of Tottenham and Crystal Palace, especially as Origiâs form went down the drain and Shaqiri canât seem to get fit anymore.
Sunday papers are reporting that Liverpool fear Jota could be out for 2 months. If those reports are accurate, then you can double the anticipated time out to 4 months, if our recent injuries are anything to go by.
If Klopp was to come in and read this thread - would you all (mostly) call him to his face I wonder? He is the single best thing that has happened to LFC in decades, still is, and will be.
Imagine us now without him, name me one other manager you think would be better? Nope? Correct. Oh sure, you can debate his descisions, but some of the above posts are shockingly disrespectful for a guy who has won us the sun AND the moon. Blaming him because a player got a kick from an opponent is about as low as you can get.
This is why Iâm behind Klopp on this one. Consistency is king, momentum separates us from the rest of the league, and the numbers show a drop off after heavy rotation.
Still, we shouldnât shut down any criticism with this âHow many CL trophies have you won?â shite.
Might turn out in our advantage this one too. Weâve won the league without Jota. Just have to do it again. And Jota comes back refreshed after the break.
Looks like some posters believe after all Klopp has done for us itâs is not allowed to criticize him for âsmallerâ mistakes because itâs disrespectful or something.
I disagree. He seems to be the type of person who hates yes-men.
After months of complaining about the tight schedule and looking for ways to take care of players welfare he had the chance to rest key players at a dead rubber away match. He did not. Clear mistake. One key player might be out for two months (hopefully not).
Whatâs happens if Salah pulls a muscle today or vs. Spurs? Will it not be allowed to ask why he had to play 90 minutes in denmark?
Anyway, time to move on and concentrate on the bigger picture. MATCHDAY!!!
Had Jota pulled up a harmstring, Iâd say that Klopp and especially the medical team made a mistake. If Salah pulls a harmstring in one of the next games, then weâll have every right to be critical.
But Jotaâs injury came from a knock. Thatâs not something you can account for. Hopefully, being a knock, it wonât be two months though, but a shorter lapse of time. Fingers crossed!
You could articulate your thoughts. No idea what the fuck that pic is supposed to mean. Your specific brand of âdoom mongering, knows better than anyoneâ isnât getting any play or sorrowful likes from my side, mate.
