Diogo JOTA: 2022/23

Who did Jota allegedly kick in the head? I didn’t see it because I’d shut myself away in a bedroom, after Spurs scored their second.

Skipp.

It was completely accidental & Jota was lucky to stay on…cancels out his tackle on Diaz 1st half, however 2 wrongs don’t make a right.

The guy who should have been sent off in the first half for his over the top tackle on Diaz :0)

Ok well, if he’d been sent off in the first half, for trying to break Diaz’s leg, then he wouldn’t have been there for Jota to kick him in the head, would he?

The guy with alleged blood all over his alleged shirt

It was a pouch of fake blood he had left over from Halloween night :0)

I thought a foul and yellow was about right.

Jota had his foot up, but eyes on the ball, looking to bring it down. Skip stooped in there a bit too.

But yes, Jota definitely high foot, but no intent or force, like some tackles that we see flying around.

Yellow and on we go.

It’s a textbook case of how incidents later in matches take an oversized influence in the agreed upon narrative. You couldnt script it in a way that could make it any clearer, with Skipp’s clear red card that was not even given as a foul is just being washed away in this discussion simply because it happened too early in the game.

That Skipp challenge in the first half could have broken a leg.

Didn’t even get a free kick. Jota’s is high but there isn’t malice or intent. Skipp ain’t missing half a season for that but he could have left Diaz out with his.

Ratcharlison likes to take his shirt off and show his god awful tattoos and do chicken dances like a cunt.

Jota :

Just wants to get home play xbox.

Clear red card for me, but Skipp was also very lucky in his earlier challenge on Diaz (and we were also lucky with Konate).

Bloody hell. If that Konate thing (don’t even want to call it a challenge) was a pen, then Salah should get six a game.

It was very close, I’d advise Konate not to do such stupidity again (hard to expect though). Intensity wise possibly not enough, but he can’t do what he did with his arms there.

I’m generally pretty sanguine about things, and I’m absolutely fine with the game deciding that the kind of hands on contact Konate did on Richarlison is a Pen.

But it has to be consistent. That’s the root of everything, and why managers and players get so angry.

We’ve all seen Salah get manhandled in the box like that every game and it’s never a pen when it’s Salah. It’s never even a talking point.

Be consistent. If it’s a pen, then it’s a pen for everyone, for every team.

Salah vs Arsenal. Manhandled by Gabriel.

Few calls for a pen?

Konate vs Richarlison

Our fans…“we were lucky there”…

For fuck sake lads.

It wasn’t close to being a pen but did Ibou need to have his arm over his body?, it’s easy enough as it is to con these officials…lets not give them even a glimmer to bat us over the head with.

By the laws of the game, It should be called as a penalty.

However, the issue is that if it is to be stamped out, it needs to be enforced at the beginning of the season and we as a team would benefit massively as we rarely ‘hold’ players compared to our opposition.

Mo would have a penalty almost every other game

A penalty? 4 or 5 per game you mean.

Only one I ever remember given was the one on Jota against a Hodgson side which he moaned about.

I feel he had a point mind even though it belonged in the WWE as I’ve seen countless teams do it without a murmur

Oh No…
