One thing he’s always been Jota is a very good finisher.

First goal was sharp reaction if anything to get on the end of Fab’s knock back.

Second goal was just expertly taken, really showed his class with the 2 touches to set the finish up.

If Newcastle still want him in summer, he’s now gone up to 80m.

I feel like I’ve been watching a different player to most others on here.

I have been really impressed with Jota this season, and in fact every season he’s been with us. It’s never been a weak area for him, but this season in particular, I think his counter-pressing without question is the strongest of all our forwards (it helps that Mané had departed). He’s a really hard worker and our most lethal forward. I just find it nuts that he’s even in any conversation about being moved on.

I think because he reminds us all of a British player -sometimes I find it difficult to distinguish him from Robbo- he isn’t talked about as having that foreign flair that we all love so he often appears to be underrated by our fans.

A very important player who I hope has his injury troubles behind him now. He appears to be at the front of the queue too for forwards according to team selection.

I’m wondering if it’s an issue of short memories, since he hasn’t actually been fit for so long. I thought when he first arrived that he was earmarked to be our Firmino replacement.

Jota needs fitness to play well, I think it’s why Klopp played him.

He was the most dangerous for us yesterday, he times his runs far better than most players. I would say he is the most intelligent attacker of ours bar Firmino.

He’s one of our best pressers and knows our principles. Works well in both directions, that’s why he’s being picked. Not to raise his fitness, though of course playing in a row helps it. But it’s on merit, why certain players play more than others right now. Klopp said before the game how he picks his forwards at the moment.

He also needs fitness and time to play himself into form.

OH NO…

Wasn’t that the knock he picked up when Coufal clattered into him? He still carried on for a good hour after that. I’ll be surprised if he didn’t start on Sunday.

I don’t know why Naby Keita is even mentioned anymore. He’s irrelevant, as far as I’m concerned and will be shipped out in the summer.

The issue here is that you’re not Jürgen Klopp.

How do you know?

Because then Jürgen wouldn’t mention Keïta at the press conference?

Dead giveaway, that…

Could be a red herring

Natural born finisher this lad (left foot, right foot, head), whether he shouldv’e been on the pitch to see it is another matter as whether the player he booted in the 'ed shouldv’e been on the pitch. Probably not on both instances.

Phenomenal balance on him. That’s the main thing how he’s able to finish in different ways. Nothing too flashy, but is able to remain calm and strong when it matters.
