Dominik SZOBOSZLAI: 2025/26

100%. The number of games he’s played is starting to show.

He needs a rest.

This is a very open, honest interview. “We need to wake up”, “next season we will be happy if we are playing Conference”.

He should be playing in midfield alongside Witz and Gravenberch.

He is still good enough to influence the game from RB so as long as he’s not starting to sour and feeling like he’s being fucked around I’m ok with it. However, he was partially (significantly) at fault for their equalizer as he was no where to be found. The fault people are putting on Gomez was in large part the result of his right side being so exposed by the absence of a RB. Is that because he just screwed up because he “isn’t a FB”? Is it part of the direction? Or is it just the inevitable consequence of playing a primarily attacking player out of position at FB?

Dominik Szoboszlai: "I don’t think it helps us that after 80mins people start to go home. Everyone is noticing that and when we concede a goal still people are leaving the stadium. I understand the frustration but we need them. I think it should be normal that in hard times we stick together even more.
“We want to make them happy, it’s not that we do it on purpose. They can be angry but stick with us because we are a family, we need you guys.”

It’s not like we turn to shit the moment people start to leave. We’re shit from the first minute.

Let’s start by playing everyone in their natural positions. So Frimpong at full-back, Szoboszlai in midfield, and if he thinks Salah needs a rest, then put Chiesa there – he’s a winger.

Fans leaving early is a symptom, not a cause.

Pathetic excuse.

It’s one of the first things Klopp did when he started- encourage fans to stay til the end and get behind team. I understand why it’s happening but definitely not helpful for the team and Dom is probably the only one who’s earned the right to point this out

I doubt many had left by 80, I can imagine a fair few fucked off when they scored mind.

That Spurs team is terrible and if you are being outplayed by them for about 60 minutes you can’t shift it on the fans.

Klopp’s comments came off the back of a few months of mixed results but still plenty there to think he would turn it around. I took a break from watching us and then saw us against City and then Forest I wasn’t aware it had got as bland as it had.

It’s been one excuse after another as time has gone by.

Fans have always left early. There have been games this season when the Main Stand has been half empty by the 90th minute with the team winning easily.

Professional footballers should be concentrating on events on the field and not counting how many people have fucked off early, and certainly not letting it effect how they’re playing.
