Dominik Szoboszlai (AM) RB Leipzig

I knew you’d make an appearance after yesterday’s posts in the other thread - too predictable :joy:

Did ya?

I’ve got a strong tingling feeling in me undies that 23-24 will see a return to Utd of 20-21/21-22 level bantz opportunities.

No doubt about it, chum. The two seasons most recently that United overperformed were the post-covid condensed season and this last odd season with a truncated preseason and the WC in the middle of it.

When things are normal and teams have a chance to prepare properly, united will revert to type and finish outside the top 4.

I have a strong feeling they’re gonna be mid-table this coming season. they don’t have goals and their defense is shaky.

I did yeh - and my point yest still stands. The analysis by @Sweeting for mount is for 22/23…the anomaly in mounts stats

I know nothing but Mount has same vibe with Van de Beek IMO. Average midfielder with decent eye for goals.

I think mount will play well as an advanced midfielder. But did United get fleeced for him , fuck yes.

Wasn’t Gini an AM at Newcastle? Its not really about where they’ve played but whether their best attributes will combine to fit a particular system that will work for us.

I think too much has been left at the foot of the door of the midfield. I feel that many teams came at us last year because our attacking trio were pretty toothless, and the pressing from the front - from new guys like Nunez who were still settling in - just wasnt really there. I think there has been some criticism of the purchase of Gakpo but I think he’s been a far more important signing than Nunez because of this aspect (pressing from the front which really was a mess beginning of the season) and his ability to connect up the attacks.

So getting back to an additional AM, if he’s got the right attributes, it could be that teams wont come at us as much knowing what we can do the other way.

FSG apologist here.

The eighties were pretty damn good, on a ‘personal’ level at least. Lots of er …‘pleasant’ memories which often involved music. Seriously though, the sixties and the seventies were the absolute peak of human achievement in terms of music. The nineties were average, and ever since music has been controlled by mega corporations and has therefore been shit.

Apologies for having nothing to do with a player we haven’t actually bought yet.

BTW it’s July 1st here, so we have about seven hours to get this done.

First Friday I worked in Germany I couldn’t fathom that out. At 3pm on the Friday a Polish woman started attacking me with a vacuum cleaner because I was in the way.

Very much POETS day.

Has anyone worked out where this guy fits in. Seems to play in Salah position? And how we deploy Mo, Nunez, Diaz, Jota, Gakpo and Dominik??

At home

RCM. He takes over the Henderson #8 role. We probably have the number waiting for him as well.

I don’t know how reliable this is at club level but he played the AM for Hungary so potentially behind the forward in a 3-3-3-1

Or at the tip in a 4-2-1-3? I have a feeling it’s similar to the role Elliott has played, he does offer us cover for Salah though which is useful in itself. Klopp likes his flexibles.
