I’ve followed him for a while and he doesn’t seem to be the type for pretending to be in the know on stuff.

I imagine he’s just speculating like the rest of us and he’s at least got the decency to say he doesn’t know rather than pretending to know something he doesn’t.

I’ve also seen some speculation that this could somehow be linked to external investment and that it’s that that may have facilitated us to pay the fee up front but then pay that off in installments. No idea of the logistics or legality of that but I don’t think many of us anticipated us fronting up a €70m fee in one payment.

I just don’t see why it was mentioned though.

Maybe just maybe the entire team realised that he was a decent amount for a young player who is already one of Europes leading talents.

The club will spend when it thinks it’s the right time, Diaz and Nunez are both examples of deals that pushed them. I do think it’s within the limit of what we will spend.

They will also feel Carvalho might fund some of it in the future perhaps. Kind of explains why we were holding back, I had my views that if we wanted a deal on Thuram, Kone or any of the other lads we could have done it before the U21 tournament.

Also might suggest the club isn’t as scraping as it is sometimes suggested.

“I feel like they went for him because Mount had his heart set on United”.

Taken from redcafe :joy:

Tbh quite a few utd fans are saying this is a good bit of business…usual dicks on there saying not good enough etc and then admitting to never seeing him or quoting FM as a source of how good he was :joy:

Yes, lots of clubs use third party to pay for players - didnt we do something similar when selling Coutinho to get the bulk of the cash upfront?

I’m curious why we wouldnt be using regular banking facilities to fund it, what advantages are there with 3rd parties?

Love it, did you learn German in the 19th century by any chance?

I live in the 19th century. I wouldn’t recommend it. The plumbing is terrible.

So you’re one of Jacob Rees-Moggs’ tenants?

I imagined you were getting upset you couldn’t get a blacksmith in Berlin on a Friday.

Aren’t we all? (In his head)

It’s a nightmare, let me tell you. They’re all off their tits at Berghain.

He will be our 4th current senior national team captain, along with Virgil, Robbo and Mo.

Wait… you can borrow money from places and pay it back in installments? WHAT???

4 national team captains playing with Jordan (who for some reason isn’t considered the England captain) and Trent - the future Liverpool captain.

Leadership in all areas of the pitch.
