Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 2)

4-5 months late. I raised this topic back then. Odd that a “woke lefty” knew about this instead of the RW capatalist.
Perhaps the RW were busy on other stuff… like useless culture wars that no one really cares about.

I’ve known about this for some time. It’s what I do IRL.

Good.
What do you think happens? And the following impact?

If the US restructures its debt, you will have a sell off in risk assets, and probably a pretty big one. Gold will soar.

But my guess is that if there is a restructuring, it will come in the form of a bond swap, perhaps into a non tradeable perpetual bond. But that’s also high risk, especially given how idiotic Trump has been. So it probably happens after he leaves office.

Speaking of idiots

Tesla car sales are down year over year 70% in Australia, 75% in Germany, 50% in Scandinavia and China, 25% in France and 10% in the US.

They’ll make it up with sales in India

Also, “yay, lets get together and celebrate our fellow white people heritage”

I realise they’re just about to enter the Indian market, but seems that would require a lot of work. I’m sure you know better, but from a quick search the EV market in India may be rising, but seems to be tiny compared to Europe atm.

It’s me being sarcastic. There’s no way that Tesla will go beyond being a niche brand given the extreme price consciousness of the Indian customers.

Brands like BYD have had some success in the EV segment. But those are with more of the entry level models. India is a tough nut for foreign automobile manufacturers to crack. The likes of GM , Ford have retreated being unable to bear with the protectionist tariffs by the Indian govt. It’s not something great for the Indian consumers but it is what it is.

Don’t particularly want to get into anything as I agree with most everything you have been contributing to this subject but St Patrick’s Day is not white people’s heritage, it’s Irish people’s heritage, and in today’s Ireland is inclusive to all, irrespective of colour or religion.

I accept your point, but this is not about who Ireland is or even St Patricks day, but about America’s perceptions of who is allowed to celebrate their heritage without question and who gets criticized for practicing identity politics when doing so.

Brace for galactic levels of cringe. 2 Hour phone talk over a while ago, and now Caligula is preparing to adress journalists regarding the results.

Expect nothing and everything, but be assured that it will be brain bustingly stupid and shallow (on the American side).

As for the rest, impossible to say, other than I expect further allignment with Russia and perhaps a catastrophical US concession or two (on behalf of Ukraine and over the heads of European states, naturally).

So we have something now from the Russian side. From Peskov:

“Under the leadership of Putin and Trump, the world is a much safer place today,” Putin’s envoy Dmitriev said.

And:

“Putin’s conversation with Trump went very well”.
