Has the ceasefire been signed ?
It’s fairly normal in war to continue with military aims till the ceasefire has been officially signed.

Maybe look into why the population voted for Trump, they seem to feel that they were losing their national identity, I know many of my old working class mates in England feel the same and they say that it is the Left wing ‘soft’ policies, the bending over backwards to appease all and sundry and the erosion of free speech, that is why a lot are for the Reform party.
I think what Trump is doing is abhorrent, I hate the man, he is just an arrogant bully and I don’t condone what he or his party or followers are doing. The way they lie and are controlling media is wrong, not to mention how they are treating law abiding citizens.
However, both sides are now too extreme and are pushing each further away from the centre and it isn’t healthy, there is no discussion, no common ground and it is a populace that is divided.

Predictable. “I have ordered my Armed Forces to stand down from attacking energy infrastructure”., Putin said. Yeah, right.
It is not possible to be more vulgar than the Russian nationalists who Medvedev panders to. The language, bereft of emotional anger, just cold blooded cynical evil.

So compelling that Russia promised to cease attacking energy infrastructure, and then launch a massive attack hours after the compelling call.

I’m going to push back on that. It’s not even the “extreme left”. Many people I know in corporate environments are all for that, because it’s about basic respect and making people feel comfortable.
The reason why transgender people became a salient issue in the elections is not because of any supposed extreme political views. They were because of attack ads that were pretty much on par with the Willie Horton ads and their racism (see What Trump’s win – and $215m worth of anti-trans ads – mean for the future of advertising | The Drum).
Interesting but I think it hides a darker truth. On one hand you’ve got a party being sensible but being crucified for it, while the other demonises soecific groups with one hand while holding the door wide open with the other.
The left aren’t opposed to free speach though, that is a lie by the far right, and subsequently followed by bigots and racists who don’t like the fact that there are consequences to their speach and actions
Looking at the graph, it’s quite clear that there’s a lot behind the scenes. In the first place, I’m not sure how they classify “strong Democrats” and “strong Republicans”. It sounds like self-identification, which also begs the question of whether the party identified with itself affects the identification, i.e. perhaps there are many voters who don’t view themselves as “strong insert party here” who make up far more of the voters.
The graphic itself is informative, but the caption is rather misleading, and taking it out of context is bullshit.
I know on a few occasions that several Universities her in NZ have blocked a speaker even though the student body wanted them in and they weren’t bigots or racists and even though I didn’t agree with what their point of view, they should be allowed to have a voice.
What they were saying wasn’t PC.
Universities are left-wing by definition now?
I’m curious who these speakers were?
