I sometimes kid myself into thinking the brazenness of their bad faith would for one day be a story and for once. Maybe that supposedly serious centrists/moderates would stop pretending it was appropriate to take them seriously

When I taught at university I saw a common theme of people being able to appear confident in talking about an issue but actually having no understanding of the words they were using. They were in reality just like a pretty good LLM who had learned pretty well in what order to stick these meaningless words so someone else could understand them. It’s always felt to me that the “our manufacturing cannot compete because of the $ being the world’s reserve currency” was one of those examples.

As a Brit living here for 16 yrs now, I know about the American food industry. Our son was fine in the UK. Could eat everything, no issues. Moved here as a young child and developed all sorts of allergies, and has to be really careful with his diet. Mrs ROTW has been brilliant with cooking Whole Foods, clean foods… but it’s not the norm in these parts.

There is no line. Just look at HK. It would mean state oppression and locking up anyone with views that Winnie the Pooh doesn’t like. Better to die free; I hope that Taiwan goes full war if the CCP scum try to invade. Will have a very large (beyond Geopolitical) impact on the rest of the world too given the importance of Taiwanese high tech manufacturing. Trump will send most of the world back 25 years in economic prosperity terms.
