If someone genuinely wanted to address our budget deficit then looking at the military is the obvious place given it represents about 50% of our discretionary spending. Especially if you supposedly have an emphasis on reducing waste and fraud given the DoD’s inability to pass audits. This should be easy for an anti-war president

This program was devised to address the specific problem Trump people said they cared about - pressure on the border from the number of asylum cases having to be processed. This was a move that allowed CBP staff on the ground to do the job they were supposed to do and free them up from managing OTM cases that suck resources.

- Defend the actions with no attempt to reconcile the difference between what you claim to care about and what is actually happening.
If we care about China in this way, which is a completely reasonable position to take, then WTF are we doing to Vietnam? This is what is so dumb about this era. Trump’s ideas arent even succesful on their own merits at achieving the things he claims he wants to address
