Republicans: Regulations are an afront to democracy. If we want regulations they should be specifically passed by legislation because at least those people are responsive to the will of the people
Also Republicans: Congress has decided regulations should be implemented in accordance with the Administrative Procedure Act, but fuck them. We’re just going to ignore that law because we dont like it and you cannot do anything about it because we have a king now (and not a King Charles type King restrained by parliament, but a Longshanks type King)
Completely agree with this. It doesn’t mean that he hasn’t a form of intelligence. But as you say, it’s without one single ounce of empathy, and that’s the problem: we are faced with a proper psychopath. Those around him seem to be of the same type.
I should add that a lot of other countries have the same type of psychopaths at the helm, but it’s of course far more shocking when such a thing happens to the most powerful country in the world, especially when said country has been professing liberal democracy since more than a century, and over time, exported it to other parts of the world.
Not direct enough. But one of his children, I don’t remember if it was Eric or the other guy, stated out on twitter 2-3 weeks ago that they were going to help their friends make a hell of a lot of money. I don’t know if it was posted here though (I certainly didn’t bother to post it).
Not that I really care. It’s obvious that there is inside trading, but they will get away with it in any case so it’s not as if it’s important for non-Americans really. For Americans it is, since they can watch further evidence of lawlessness and maybe either change their mind if Pro Trump or get incentive to act if anti Trump. But whatever, it’s not shocking so carry on. The US admin has done much worse than this and is going to do much worse than this. It’s just corruption, erodes trust further, but it’s not about invading Canada or Greenland, the Kremlin, or breaking up NATO, so I don’t really care. It is their swamp and they voted for it and they have been obviously corrupt before the election (obvious for me, anyway).
Let them have their shame. It’s not as if it’s going to have legal consequences other than a show trial at most, resulting in a pardon in the end.
Acknowledging the market is down and trying to play it off so he could ride the wave of anger is very different from concocting this whole stupid shit show as a way to manipulate the market to create a dip they could then buy up
They are brazenly corrupt in a multitude of ways, many already completely out in the open. Going down this rabbit hole not only I think gives him WAY too much credit, but takes our eyes of the out in the open corruption that is indefensible.
Imo the Trump administration panicked. Just look at Trump’s face when the journalist asked about the EU tariff reaction and the look of relief when told the EU were suspending them.
I think they ‘suddenly’ realised that they couldn’t take on China and the EU so had to cave in before the EU reacted. It had to be ‘today’.
I also think it was Trump who licked Van De Leyen’s arse. Horrible vision!
