NYC recently pushed through a congestion pricing scheme that was highly controversial but (as is normally the case) now seems very effective and pretty popular. For reasons of just being a prick, Trump had vowed his administration would legally challenge it. They have followed through and are now in court over it. Yesterday when trying to submit a filing to the judge apparently the administration accidently submitted the wrong document - an internal memo from the DOJ to the Department of Transportation about how best to proceed in a case they know they cannot win.

When enough lives of people who voted for him are adversely affected, hopefully it will move the dial. Still, even if he continues to be so disastrous for four years, there’s every chance 40-45% of people will approve of him, as they are in a cult and he can do no wrong.
Beyond that he is actively exploring ways to do another term, regardless of the election result. He sees himself as above the law and so far, the other supposed coequal branches of government have been toothless.
