Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 2)

Sure, but in the event that there is a White Swan event and the current regime falls and are unable to come back to power (likely or not), this leads to structural long term social damage on top of everything else that is awful.

But sure, it is not on the top of the list of disasters befalling the United States.

The US will need to be remade so in actuality more destruction may actually be necessary to get a better outcome.

Ah, Florida. Where actual allegations of child sex trafficking get you re-elected, but respecting someone enough to address them the way they wish is grounds for dismissal and allegations of grooming.

This is America. So much for all the ā€œfreedomā€ crap that the republican degenerates and deplorables always claimed to value.

At the most basic level, the US can no longer make any claim to be a free society with a free press. National police are visiting journalists who say things the government doesn’t like.

:joy:

He must be in a really bad mood right now, the way he’s lashing out.

I know it’s not funny but come on…

Edit

I just read it might be the Greenland mining deal that has made him mad

Just your average major geopolitical and economic shock via shitposting.

Any business that leaves capital significantly exposed to a regulatory system this capricious deserves the full consequences. We are probably less than a year away from the US Federal government hitting a debt/spending wall that acts as the first real constraint on Trump, and Trump opening up the idea of repudiating US debt as a response. It is what he has always done in business, and nothing in US politics has suggested it is actually harder to do in government.
