I can almost hear the Horst Wessel Lied being worked on furiously in the background.

Are the Sympathies a group of nymphs who bathe him?

Haven’t you heard ? Nymphs who go without True Love, but who must sexually engage with their host; become hags out of misery.

I read this with the song Detachable Penis playing in the background of my subconscious.

Seriously though, this is dangerous. There is a very real chance of reprisals and escalatory political violence as well as thuggery; not seen since the 1950s in the US.

Because the US is not in a normal sociopolitical state, but more at a powderkeg state.

I would like to note that Twitter is now full of these. I don’t see them much, because it is not stuff I usually read or watch since I am all about geopolitics and security politics, so the algorithm ā€œprotects meā€. But others do, particularly Americans.

Not sure where to put it. This is probably now the wrong thread for this.
Breaking News maybe, or interesting finds.
But I am posting it here only because there has been some Charlie Kirk discussion here. This technically doesn’t belong, but…
It’s interesting to see escape routees and positions.

But yeah, I’ll stop with the investigative and speculative posts now.

This is ridiculous. Killing someone because of disagreed politics. RIP and what a pity to all who had unnecessarily died because of politics, regardless of which side you are on.

It’s hardly something new.

And, without advocating for what happened, they are not practicing an agree to disagree form of politics, but an I will subjugate you form. But we also dont know the motivation yet. For as quickly as the right is solidifying the message this was a crazed lib, we have seen these sorts of acts on RW people are just as likely to come from even more extreme RWers angry at a perceived softening of a movement leader

And why American politics is so ridiculous. Someone died. A 31 year old with wife and kids.

And yet politics are just concerned about throwing shade on each other.

It’s all very well being holier than thou, but political assassination is as old as history and it’s always followed by finger pointing and recrimination. It’s not only an American phenomenon, it’s happened all over the world and follows a familiar pattern.
In this case it will be used to justify even greater levels of repression and further erosions of human rights.

Pfft!

I am not about to grieve my enemy, in another country far away. His death will not make him palpatable. Maybe if he got to grow old, he could have become someone I respected, maybe liked, but for now, he is literally an enemy. And I mean what I say regarding enemy. The ā€œit is just politicsā€ would have resonated a bit better if there was not a war going on. A war where Kirk creates propaganda to support and comfort the enemy. It is in the national interests of my state that people like Kirk lose power. So no, no more sympathy for him than a Russian soldier who signed a contract to fight in Ukraine. It is a tragedy, this is true. But so are all deaths, so is all suffering. His death is only special due to it being a political assassination (which is sociopolitically devastatingly damaging of course). I observe thousands of fathers die at the front. This does not move me more, nor would it be ethical if I had been more moved by Kirk’s death than those I observe from the war. It is simply a tragedy, principally for his family. But there are so many tragedies a day globally.

I am hysterically happy that we don’t have political assassinations in Norway, but I am not going to say nice things about Charlie Kirk in America, just because he is a father to 2 kids. He has been, an incredibly sinister and dangerous individual. Likely in death, he may get worse. Like Bekloppt mentioned, a potential Horst Wessel character.

Yeah dare I say is as someone who admits having a bit of an interest in all things Weimar Republic I just shudder at the thought of what come next. It never leads to cooler heads.

Someone might call this opportunistic

The irony in the blood soaked Russian butcherers are saying this is cute though.

Narrator: Subject is not in custody, the Chief of the FBI is just uncommonly unprofessional.

Note: They have ā€œa person of interestā€ that has been apprehended. But he hasn’t been charged and he is not formally a suspect, which means that they are far from sure it’s the right man.

Excuse me, but what is this man actually doing ?

I have begun to suspect that these top positions maybe don’t require a lot of actual work…

Well fucking done to the idiot who shot Kirk.

Way to make the guy more relevant in death. The likes of Kirk would soon have become a running joke and slid into irrelevancy. By killing him , you’ve just done the opposite and made him into a martyr.
