Remember what they gleefully cheer on the next time one of these ghouls ask why the left doesn’t give a shit about Kirk getting shot.

Next week…we are honoring the heros at the battle of Sandy Hook…no, not the children. The gun makers who allow us to protect our freedoms

And to be clear they aren’t actually doing anything. The DoD did a review last year on whether the medals should be revoked and determined no. I don’t get why they’re raising this again now other than dunk on woke

Who knows what this is all about? Concerning.

My best guess is it is a winnowing exercise, and they will get rid of generals who are not with them and in their pockets. That would be a move to smooth the way for future military action, perhaps in American soils against their own people.

I don’t know why they would get everyone together for that though. Still seems odd.

Yep, I think you might have missed the thrust there. My read was more along the lines of ‘ok, so what about this batshit craziness, now that you have dealt with the Megyn Kelly weirdness’?

That is a particular bete noire for me, that makes it very hard to respect the Congressional Medal of Honor.

Consider that Major Richard Winters was nominated for a CMoH for the astonishing action at Brecourt Manor. The only reason it was not awarded was the limit of one per division (~10000 men).

Wounded Knee was an action where 19 of those medal were awarded, including two machine gun operators, from a total company of 500. Some were awarded for murdering Lakota who were trying to run. One was awarded for preventing a mule from running away. Of note, less than 50 firearms were captured, but over 100 women and children were among the dead.

This decision is a desecration to the brave Americans who fought against fascism. But so is virtually everything in America today.

OMG,thought she was out of touch, but she seems to be on the same planet as the rest of Trumps hand picked geniuses.

Needless to say , the indictment is a travesty , and that all those involving themselves in it are putting their ability to practise law in serious jeopardy. Lawfare does a deep dive here into why this prosecution is going nowhere.

‘Alleging that a conspiracy to commit a non-crime continues until this day is just another way of saying that people keep criticizing Trump.’

In trump’s first term they did a politically motivated IG investigation into the matter and found no there there. They also tried to prosecute someone else (and failed) for the crime they are now alleging Comey did.

It is important to remember the real goal here though. It isn’t just about punishing enemies. It is that in forcing his enemies to defend themselves they are using many of the arguments trump has used and will need to use again in the future when defending himself against legitimate accusations of actual crimes. The point is to delegitimize these sorts of accusations so it creates a reflex in enough people that this is just what politics is now…accusing the other side of crimes so they no longer consider the weight and importance of what is being alleged.

This sort of shit is so stupid and the sort of bullshit that people who care that the Dems as a party are so ineffective should be taking issue with

The GoP turned on Nixon only once he became a political anchor. It wasnt some high minded “for the good of the country” position. Regan and Bush one both had their DoJ involved in covering up political scandals, and the person at the center of it ended up with an elevated status within the party. Bush 2 had multiple DoJ scandals, from the fuckery around the approvals for the “enhanced interrogation” policy to the politically motivated removal of a large collection of senior DoJ officials, something that ultimately cost his AG his job.

Pretending the pre-Trump GoP was an above board operation that just had different opinions about what is best for the country is a large part of why we are here today.

I just saw a video of Joey Barton discussing the Charlie Kirk shooting. What is happening? The game’s gone!

I’m already going to assume his position on this, considering what a cunt he is.

Edit: Looked it up, it’s dumber than I thought it would be. He’s such a stupid piece of shit.

“It will be remembered by our kids and maybe their kids as a seismic moment, similar to - but I think way above - Martin Luther King.”

“I’ll tell you the reasons why. He [Kirk] was 31-years-old, obviously Martin Luther King was 53-years-old or whatever.”

“You think about Nelson Mandela went through but both of these people are criminals. Both of those people had committed acts of terrorism.”

“Martin Luther King has got big issues in the background if you read deeply into him… his adultery, his sex life and prostitution.”

And now for some real history. Let us go back just 1000 years, no more (we don’t need the history of the Roman Empire):

And the Turkish tyrant smiling and nodding all along the speech… :see_no_evil_monkey:

Seriously now, what do you think: are these repeated declamations of stupid historical non-truths intentional (with some sinister intent behind it?), or is he just rambling along as the old, doddering fart he is, with his councellors in the background hanging their heads in shame? Or maybe it is just the usual US way with history, ie. never understanding anything about any situation, made a bit clearer with that fat cunt in charge?
