If the Orange Caligula keeps steadily building up the numbers of ICE personnel for his private army until 2028, there will never be another election taking place, ever… He will forcibly see that it doesn’t happen… especially if the ICE agents know they would be immediately unemployed from their squillion dollars a year pay structure, and they would likely be retrospectively prosecuted for the inhumane actions if the Democrats ever get a sniff of power again…!

ICE has always attracted a unique demographic, but today really the only qualification is “do you want to bang some heads of brown people?”
They are unfit, uneducated, have no idea about the law, have criminal records, but they really fucking hate the right people so they’re hired

A running theory I’m partial to from someone I watch is that the real reason they’re allowed to work anonymously is that a lot of them are probably known (not so much in this case, eh) white supremacists. Would hurt the administration more to knowingly work with these people rather than any real concern for their safety. At this point, I don’t know how much worse their reputation can get though.

What happens to Werner Bros/Discovery has been a long running media story but has now become a firmly US politics story.
They have found themselves in a debt crisis as a result of their debt loaded acquisition by Discovery and it has long been assumed the only way out for them was an additional acquisition by a company with even deeper pockets. Once Ellison started sniffing around Paramount most assumptions was adding WB would make the most sense for everyone (except for those who actually work in the industry, and possibly consumers, who would be hurt by such a major consolidation), but Comcast (Universal) and Apple were also both very viable and supposedly interested parties.
We’re now in a position where Trump has signaled his preference for Ellison’s bid with the believe that he would get his admin to block moves by any other bidder, and as a result Ellison is holding firm on a valuation significantly under what most analysts believe even a debt loaded WB is worth.
Lots will see this as being about getting a more friendly person in at CNN, but the Discovery acquisition already did that as an old school Sinclair guy has basically been overseeing that), but I think it’s just more the payback to Ellison for what he’s already done to CBS. And he fucking hates the guy who runs Comcast (because of MSNBC). Either way, the corruption at play is absolutely staggering.

One of the things they used to get wound up about was that Obama turned one of the tennis courts into a basketball court, turning the white house ghetto. Melania’s tennis pavilion was their play at rewhitening the place.
