Itās all a typical case where the right wing are determined to be outraged no matter what the real story is. They will continue to insist that itās all a tasteless insult to the memory of St Charlie whatever logical arguments are made by the other side. It seems that the teachers wore these shirts last year, they are supposed to be a joke about how difficult maths is, and that at least one of them is maga.
It raises an interesting issue about Halloween and how it fits with the fundementalist Christianity that is such a strong influence on the current regime. A pagan celebration of the supernatural and its weird contemporary horror themed incarnation sits uneasily with the hyper old testament zealotry of many of Trumpās acolytes.
I hope nobody loses their jobs unnecessarily, and I hope nobody loses their heads unnecessarily, although that ship seems to have sailed.

Just to be clear, the teachers have been attacked and doxed by people with big platforms on the right for having mocked Kirkās death with these costumes and it should be pretty clear that is an absurd accusation, even if we, people who have nothing to do with the school, donāt know immediately know what point the costumes are making.
It would be great if we lived in a society where the Kirk shooting was such a singularly awful situation that all statements about shootings are natural statements about it, but we donāt, and the people attacking these teachers for this are mentally ill.

I think this probably best represents the current moment. Demsā reputation isnt in the tank because they went too left. Itās in the tank because people who would otherwise give their vote to them see the establishment as refusing to stand for anything.
When Trump inevitably starts his regime change war in Venezuala and increases his war crime count, you know for sure a good portion of the Dem establishment will refuse to oppose it
