I feel the Democrats’ are like our biggest party. A huge following, and a vibrant grassroot is shackled by a limp, mummified leadership.

I think the problem (one of them) is that the US is more polarised these days than 20-30 years ago. So the Democratic party, is truly the Scitznofrenia Party, as it consists of the equalents of the following Norwegian political parties from left to right:
Mainly, here is where the US Dems are located (Liberal party)
All of these parties, with the main force being “liberal” (which is fairly to the right economically, in a Norwegian perspective), is included in the US Democratic Party Big Tent.
Ethusiastic grassroot people, who are very socially aware, tend to be loctated to the left of the main party.
Not so long ago, there would be fewer Dems to the left and fewer dems to the right and more at the centre. So more polarised.
So in essence, in Norway we would in terms of economic politics, view Dems as Centre Right, while at the same time, being very (often the activist grassroot is strangely and extremely so, to the point of head scratching) social liberal. But the Democratic party cannot be placed on the Left axis due to economic politics, which is clearly on the Right axis (this is now changing a bit, as I wrote).
It’s the old problem with US politics, how to get people to become enthusiastic, when power will in any case land in the “boring” centre, because that is where the weight is at the end of the day.

Just a very few years ago, the Norwegian Conservtive Party, I would have placed in the Republican camp (and they are actual their historic sister party), but no longer, as the GOP has shifted, and real Cons with principles have moved into the Dems (many still remain with the GOP or have become radicalised though).
The GOP in Norwegian terms would be, from left to right:
The latter two are Hard Nationalists; and, Alliance, conspiratorical neo fascist/neo nazi
So of course, in the US, naturally there will often be issues uniting these philosohically illogical tents.
But that’s the eternal problem of a Two Party System. Someone will always be unhappy as to where the power in the party will be centred. It will not be left enough for them, centrist enough for them or right enough for them.
And particularly this is a problem that is more a problem for the Dems than the GOP.

As he is letting lawyers rule the roost, i think he has realised how easy it is to get money through the courts in this way. Obviously, if he feels slighted, then any compensation awarded, he would be looking to put into his own arse pocket.

Epstein files. Apparently they are way worse than any Republican imagined, with lots of images, videos, the lot. Not sure how much is directly Trump, but there are lots of noises that at the least there are images of Trump with naked/half naked underage girls.
The Senator asked Bondi about it and she did not deny it. And several anonymous Republican sources are briefing that their contacts in the FBI are confirming as much.
Because they are so unprofessional I think the files went to hundreds of FBI agents for review early on, and if that is the case, the chances of keeping it all under wraps are diminished.
So Trump is doing anything and everything, domestically and internationally, to keep this from coming out.

At present a group of Democrats are trying to subpoena him for questioning. They even said they would fly to the UK if he would not go to America. The Republicans have blocked the move, presumably because they think it will potentially lead to more trouble for Trump.
Not that Andrew would have complied anyway.
