Predictably, MAGA defenders have all hopped on the same predictable excuse that he really said “Peggy” and then went and found the existence of a reported with the name Peggy to validate that. But the comments were made to a Bloomberg reported called Catherine Lucey.
There is no executive in the country who could be caught saying that to someone in a work situation and stay in a job. Yet now days later we still have no official statement from Bloomberg or from the White House Correspondents’ Association condemning this. Back in the Obama admin he referred to Fox News as not a news org but a communications arm of the Republican party. The entire WHCA rallied en masse around the Fox News colleagues condemning (the very clearly correct) comments and criticizing Obama for damaging the first amendment.

Dallas area reporter gets swatted. He is informed it was initiated after the FBI shared a tip with the Dallas police about a domestic abuse allegation (which seems fishy in the first place because why would that go through the FBI, and its a situation the police are notoriously slow to act upon), but his FOIA request has shown the Dallas police made it up. The only conclusion is this was a threat related to a story he was about to break about Nazi groups within the department

This was the whole thing that kicked off the rush for the controversial partisan mid-cycle redistricting all over the country, including the big retaliation CA just passed by referendum. If this holds and Texas have to go back to their current maps Dems will have somehow ended up ahead and gaining seats.
Yes it is shit and this is not how democracy should be done, but the Dems as a party put big resources into non-partisan, independent redistricting in the Obama era and were opposed all the way by the GOP and ultimately lost in court. If the GOP wanted to stop this there are already incredibly well developed plans to do this more fairly and there would be the partnership available to them to get it done.
EDIT: Lol I also just saw the the Utah GOP made administrative fuck ups and missed their deadline to submit their new maps so are stuck with the current ones as well.
