This is maybe not so surprising, but will set off the most serious geopolitical situation since the Korean War,since it literally guarantees future a future Russian invasion of other countries, lands and territories; they would fancy.
If this goes through, the current Russo-Ukrainian war is likely just a prelude to the far bigger one, which can easily spiral out of control into nucler exchanges. Easilly.
In northern and eastern Europe, we have said now for years that we are living in a Pre-War Era (unless Russia is stopped), this essentially, makes it almost a certainty. And no, I am not exaggerating. Not at all.

It would be good if the Epstein files came out, un redacted (hopefully there is a whistle blower who will do that, out of disgust when we get the scrubbed version) and even better if the files contained whatever Kompromat Putin has on Trump.
Then Putin’s ace up his sleeve is gone, as is his ability to scare Trump with his secret, as the secret/s will be out in the open.
Apart from the necessary seismic shock it will give to American politics, it might also help Ukraine in terms of support against an invading aggressor.

This is looking like Halligan completely fucked this up, as you might expect someone to do with no prosecutorial experience and very limited (none?) support from her office who had already declined to pursue the case.
The judge is claiming, among many other suggestions, that the indictment the prosecutors presented in court is not the same as the one they presented to the grand jury. The grand jury initially was provided a 3 count indictment and the court was presented with only a 2-count one. It has been reported definitively that the GJ rejected one of the original 3 counts and they are saying that they quickly redid the paperwork to include only the other 2 counts, but did not ask the GJ to vote again on the amended indictment. I think the inference from the reporting is the GJ did approve those remaining 2 charges, but even still it is seemingly a big deal that after the vote the prosecutors altered the paperwork and did not put that back the GJ before submitting it to the court. Best case scenario is procedural incompetence. Worst case is they failed at a GJ and fabricated a charging document. You would think reporting would make sure the difference between the two is clear, but such is life with our media
Anyway, this is what you get when you put such an unqualified person in a position like this. This should end the career of both Halligan and the person who appointed her and put in a position where she was destined to fail.

The “them” being referenced are elected Dems who have made public statements reminding military members that they are not required to follow orders that require them to commit illegal acts (such as extrajudicially killing civilians of a foreign country we are not at war with)

It turns into rejecting the wealth of evidence that does exist on an absence of evidence of a connection and instead demanding the ultimate impossible study that cannot be conducted before they will accept the truth.
