They treat EVERYTING as if its a stage production. Yes they mentioned the content, but in a speech so bad in terms of content, there is no need at all to be doing this shit but they cannot help themselves.
I always go back to one of the Dem primary debates in 2020, where Beto was absolutely flayed by one of the Castro brothers over criticism of one of his positions over the border based on really technical details of law that no one listening could have possibly understood, but Castro was so forceful and performative that Beto’s candidacy essentially ended that night. It turns out that Castro was unambiguously wrong and Beto was right, something that analysts should have known and conveyed to viewers, but they loved the theatre and really prompted Castro’s performance

During the campaign a few people here put a lot of energy into rejecting this and suggesting people had Trump Derangement Syndrome if they pointed out this was their clearly stated goal. I want to give a very robust FUCK YOU to those people.
I hope you would go through a period of self reflection for why you were so sure and so committed to ideas of what was likely to happen that required you to be completely oblivious to things that had been said and done, but I wont hold my breath

After the Brown University shooting on the weekend the online right somehow decided some random muslim student was responsible for it and started doxing him. To help protect him the university started scrubbing whatever mentions of him there were on official university websites. The same online right who had already accused him of the shooting interpreted that as Brown trying to distance themselves from having had a mass murderer enrolled. Totally fucking insane stuff
But here is one of the senior members of the DoJ advancing this conspiracy theory

They’ve now identified the shooter as a Portuguese guy who dropped out of the PhD Physics program at Brown about 20 years ago. He was fond dead hiding out in a storage unit having seemingly shot himself. They say he is also responsible for the murder of an MIT professor that occurred in his home a couple of days later. They apparently studied at the same university together in Portugal before they both came to the US, and so there is some potential motive coming together there related to the failure of his studies decades ago.
So, about that whole “the gunman stormed in to the room and said something in Arabic before shooting” thing…
