I would imagine there will be more deaths than that, as ICE flies people out to prisons/camps overseas, in particular El Salvador.
Recently congresswoman Ilhan Omar was turned back from inspecting the ICE facility in Minneapolis, even though it is legal for her to do so, as part of her congressional oversight role.
Imagine what must be going on in there, such that they won’t allow it to be inspected?
And now extrapolate that further, to imagine the conditions in places far away from any sort of scrutiny, such as El Salvador.

In the early 1930s Hitler created the Sturmabteilung, or SA, known as Brownshirts to intimidate and disrupt the political opposition by violence on the streets and wherever they held meetings. Later Himmler created the Schutzstaffeln (SS) who were even worse and eventually supplanted the SA. Hitler also used the Freicorps, extreme right wingers and many of them WW1 veterans to terrorise cities opposed to him. Does ICE seem familiar? It seems Trump may have picked up even more tricks from history as Hitler also created the Gestapo (secret state police) as a plainclothes force that wire-tapped, raided personal files and created a network of informants to report regime opponents who were then brutally interogated and shot. Trump has the FBI for that kind of work. And of course, it’s all terribly effective.

A story came up that ICE attempted to gain access to a local high school but were denied by the staff (not sure if it is true, it linked to a facebook post). I saw a comment from someone I used to work with saying they would “hold the door open for them” and “bring them coffee and donuts for a job well done”.
Then I clicked on their profile and saw they had commented on another story. A school bus driver in Camden, Maine was charged with manslaughter after he ranover and killed a child after they got off the bus. The driver had a previous OUI charge, multiple complaints on file for dangerous driving and just a month prior had crashed a school bus into a parked car writing it off. On the day of the accident it was found that he didn’t put up the arm extender which is a requirement and was leaning across the bus arguing with people on the sidewalk when he pulled forward and ranover the 12 year old boy. A horrible story of a person who should never had been behind the wheel and an accident that should never have happened. Anyway the person I saw had commented “Oh this is so sad, Jeff is the kindest and nicest person I’ve ever met I can’t believe this happened to him”.
So to summarize…
White, drunk, argumentative, dangerous man who killed a child: Nice guy in a tragedy
Brown kids trying to go to school: Evil and need to be arrested
That pretty much sums up MAGA to be honest.

I just had a surreal talk with my coworker about ICE as well.
Basically: Renee Good was blocking the road, she attacked ICE guy, so he responded. And ICE only ever catch illegal immigrants so all is good.
I asked if he saw the videos, he said he did. I asked if he had any ID on him right now to show his citizenship, he said why he needed that.
We are in academics and this guy is a 1m6 Asian guy living in Canada his whole life. Just bizarre. I thought of him as a friend, willing to give him the benefit of the doubt over his opinions on abortion, the convoy, and even immigration, but it has been awkward since then.
Sorry for the rant. Between this and watching Liverpool, a lot pent up.

there could be a number of responses in the scenario that the USA moves in on Greenland…
probably the most plausible is no one anywhere does anything about it and the world keeps turning onto the next manufactured crisis…

Sure we’re destroying international alliances, the economy is tanking, there are masked unmarked paramilitary on the streets disappearing people, the President is likely the main man in the largest child sex trafficking ring in history, that same President is also likely hopped up on anti-dementia medication and has left the running of the Government to an unelected self-professed Nazi called Stephen Miller, the US military is ran by someone with deep ties to the Russian Government and has turned over every single military computer to be ran by an AI software that just so happens everyone in Government invested in right before they got the contract.
BUT!
There is a trans-kid at a rural high school in northern Maine who wants to play field hockey so that’s pretty much all I care about.

Nothing surprises anymore that Trump doesn’t rubber stamp, his contempt for the average person is glaringly obvious, and will only deteriorate.
The same applies to the world at large..politicians need to wake up to what they are crawling to…and fast!

Basically yes and they might not need to do much because the petro dollar is already facing collapse and with it will go USD as the world’s reserve currency. America’s colossal $38trillion debt has become unserviceable and the trade monster that is China is behind it. Countries worldwide are right now fleeing the dollar like rats on a sinking ship and stockpiling gold. They are accepting local currencies like the Yuan and rouble as payment for oil, goods and services using China’s interbank exchange system - even the Saudis. This cuts the purchase of US treasuries which have for decades allowed the US to run its huge budget deficits. The fear now is that the US may soon default on its debt, prompting a massive run on treasuries and other paper. If so, for Americans it will decimate the value of their savings and pensions. This is underway right now and just one of the reasons Trump is trying to carve out the western hemisphere as the sole preserve of US trade. The chickens are coming home to roost and for now the public is blissfully unaware, but all the evidence is there in the Fed’s printing of billions of new dollars per month to service debt. It is unsustainable. Take a look at charts showing the USD share of world currency reserves and you can see globally it is being dumped.

The alliance that kept the peace in Europe for 75 years evaporates, leaving the continent to rearm and realign against the new aggressor across the Atlantic. Europe will realize that the United States is no longer a partner but a predator. They will build their own defense architecture, their own financial systems, and their own alliances that specifically exclude us. The West will continue, but the United States will no longer be part of it.
Invading Greenland is not a show of strength; it is an act of national suicide. We are trading our reputation, our economy, and our security for a frozen island and a handful of minerals we can’t even process. The price of this real estate deal is everything we built over the last century. If we cross this line, there is no going back. We will be the lonely superpower, ruling over nothing but our own decline.

I don’t think that Europe will act in a coherent and unified way. It’s far too disjointed for that, unfortunately.
NATO will be gone though and the Russians and Chinese will be celebrating.

Yeah you are right…
Europe is too fractured to act as a single force to be reckoned with, across so many concerns. This is going to be its downfall if America itself doesn’t get to grips with the current Government.
As for naming the source of the article, sometimes sensible people from across the globe, and sometimes nearer to the action than we are, can offer opinion/s that have substance, or points of interest that serve to give others, like ourselves, ‘food for thought’ and alternative perspective.
Sometimes all that is offered as reference by these individuals, is a name, a business, a title or just a humble viewpoint. If I think what I have read could be of interest to others on TAN, even if they only number one or two, I will continue to post the article.
As you seem to be the only one ‘sounding like a broken record’, which is a perfect description by the way, demanding/requesting the source and background of my postings on here, then maybe the simple answer for us both, is to put my account on ignore…
