Interesting piece. The failure to place limits on foreign ownership of UK corporations, assets and donations to politicians here has left the UK a virtual vassal state. Combined with the suicidal Brexit which isolated us from Europe, we are going to be left with very few friends.

Update on this - my Hydro-Quebec friend was told that one of their coordinators reached out Wednesday to their most recent contact at FEMA, just to let them know Quebec was not expecting particularly challenging conditions. The FEMA counterpart thanked him for the gesture and past support, and advised him that unfortunately Wednesday was his last day with FEMA - and had no idea who would be taking on the role/work.
Looks like someone just figured out they might some of those people this weekend.

NYT have published a piece on how Kash and Bongino were perceived by rank and file at the FBI. It’s brutal.
This one of 1) Kash not realizing it is an actual job with actual work, and 2) reassuring the head of MI5 that a key FBI role in the UK would not be leaving without realising the person has already been pulled

The difference here is back then they just withheld information from patients about their diagnosis and availability of treatment. Today we’re just lying to parents so they facilitate their kids getting measles.

I wish he started to give us more serious films. He is an awesome director is many ways, but in latter years everything he produces is so super shallow. I want deeper stories than Avatar. Come on, some cool dark sci fi at least. These are good times for post apocalyptic stories.
