Drill Baby Drill...the US Politics Thread (Part 3)

If they gravitate towards shooting them in the testicles they might qualify for a posting with the IDF after the Minnesota jaunt is over.

An important thing that has been missed in some of the “what now” discussions, but ICE arent actually who are running this Minnessotta operation. It is CBP. ICE exist largely because CBP has limited enforcement power away from the border so when we see interior enforcement it is usually ICE. But this op is one that even the despised immigration Czar and former ICE head, Tom Homan, and current head of ICE didnt advocate for. But Homeland Barbie thought the shock and awe of the operation was good optics so pushed it. These CBP guys are even less well trained at this sort of stuff than ICE because it generally isnt their remit.

When this whole thing unravels, I wonder which one of the main players will Trump throw to the wolves in order to absolve himself?

And now the Bavarian AfD is offically endorsing creating a Bavarian version of ICE. Because, of course. Bring back the OGs.

More on this from NYT ;

"But for many election officials and voting rights experts, the main concern is that the Justice Department’s effort is led by Trump allies who long falsely denied that former President Joseph R. Biden Jr. won the 2020 election.

“These data can be manipulated to support false claims about ineligible voting and justify efforts to thwart free and fair elections.”

Just about the only thing Trump cares about now is not losing the House in November. Everything that’s going on now should be looked at through that lens.

The Melania documentary is not exciting audiences in the UK:

I’m not sure why they have put this out to the multiplexes in Britain. Even the most successful documentary features tend to do the rounds of the arthouse cinemas, and I can’t imagine that there is much interest in the subject matter.

Is Melania even particularly engaged in US public life? I could see a documentary about Betty Ford, Hillary Clinton or even Barbara Bush being of some historical interest. But the trophy wife of a corrupt president?

I read that Amazon (Jeff Bezos), put up £40m for the documentary… of which, the majority goes to Melania herself..!!!
In other words, how to put money into the arse pocket of the Trump family without being held to account

Disney and Paramount Pictures bid for streaming rights to the film, as reported by Matthew Belloni of Puck News, but Amazon outbid both and agreed to pay $40 million to license the film and produce a follow-up docuseries on Melania; this was the highest price ever paid for a documentary.

And they are marketing the fuck out of it. Maybe half as much money again.

Note that a couple of days ago, in the immediate aftermath of Pretti’s shooting, a collection of Tech bigwigs showed up at the white house for a private screening.

Trump Inc is certainly monetizing this Presidency. No wonder he doesn’t want to let go.

NYT’s analysis they reported a week or so ago said he made more in 2025 than he has over the entire length of his prior career
