Isn’t Novara really dodgy?
I’ve always found Novara very reliable as a left of centre independent news sources. No billionaires or even ad sponsors. Cuts straight through the BS. It’s not far left like critics claim but is left -leaning which I see as a vital counter blanace to the overwhelmingly far right stance of 90% of our media.
Ok everyone, I’m sorry, this thread has gone way off topic and I feel a bit responsible. There must be a better thread for this discussion.
Is it possible for a US politics thread in the era of Trump to actually go off topic?

Keep in mind, we already have SC precedent from Bush vs Gore that essentially says “party A is winning for the ballots already counted, and as we dont know how to resolve the issues with the remaining ballots we’ll just stop it here and declare party A the winner”.

A great example of how the way people talk about the immigration situation does not reflect what is actually happening. Until very recently the majority of people without legal status arrived legally and over stayed just as this guy did. When those people are European the system allows them to remedy their situation and gain legal status despite not actually “doing everything correctly.” When they are from Mexico, they are FUCKED. A big chunk of whom build a life here legally and then saw the rules change in the 90s that made them illegal overnight.
That balance only changed recently. But even that was not because of an insecure border. It was because there was a massive increase in Asylum seekers and that who despite following a legal pathway are often classed as illegal entries or border encounters

I think the 25th amendment point misses the scope of the problem. America isn’t the way it is because Trump is President, Trump is President because America is the way it is.
