On a personal note, I cannot stand that woman. She reports like she is relaying something âsheâ has found out, almost always, when of course she hasnât. She also reports like she is informing absolute simpletons who know absolutely nothing. But I note some like her. I cannot even open videos where she is the âjournalistâ, as I donât like being talked to like I am a simpleton with lots of unecessary totally bs background information that everyone knows, reported with American âflashâ, âbangâ and nonsense drama.
Then again, I absolutely loathe, no hate, all ânews showsâ that are constructed like a fucking Talk Show. News are supposed to be serious, not talk show bullshit. I only tolerate Daily Show and the like because it is so obviously satire (and so actually fun and interesting).
Sheâs not reporting to you though, sheâs reporting to people who voted for Trump. Iâm surprised she use words and not pictures.

Pfff, that is no defence of style and format and also makes no sense at all as she has reported like this for decades, hardly primarily to people who voted Trump (most of whom donât watch her, I will remind you). It makes no sense to say that she is reporting to people who voted Trump, almost all of whom live in the âotherâ media world. She, that woman, is a liberal news âshowâ star after all.
I am of the opinion, and I am hardly alone in this, that the Talk Show format and the disgusting way it is set up with entertainment, is one of the reasons why Americans are so ignorant. No one else in the West have news presented like a Game Show and it is beneath respect. My respect anyway. Others have different opinions, which is fine for me. I just find it contemptible to use news in this way.
The fact is: Ukraine is the only party in the war actually willing to negotiate (code word for concessions), but whatever these bastards have managed to create an alternative reality.

I take your point. I kind of accept it as a âUS thingâ which I usually steer clear of. Itâs all fluff and opinion a lot of the time. This instance is no different.
Iâm more interested in the fact that Trump met Carney to create some deal and Carney walked out.
Nothing on the Beeb about it. I havenât looked elsewhere to be honest.

I would have googled canadian papers probably. If there is nothing that shows up , itâs probably not as dramatic as Degeneres reports it as (no surprise to me if so).
Probably Carney did walk out (the woman doesnât tend to lie), but Degeneres has an ugly tendency to create drama using her own âtakesâ. So likely it is a lot about âintepretation of eventsâ, which it often is with these Talk Shows (and why I never take them seriously as I am intelligent enough to have my own âtakesâ based on reported information).
Maybe all she says is 100% accurate, but again, drama and takes. Itâs massive and âbigâ for her and her audience that she is entertaining with negative Trump-news, but probably not so for the rest of the world.

Pretty much all those â1 minute agoâ or â5 minutes agoâ YT Videos are fake and for clickbait.
For football, itâs really horrible when itâs the transfer period. Itâs flooded with all those shite videos.

I actually clicked and watched that videoâŚand stopped after a few minutes. I then visited the RedFlagDeals off topic/political section (often quite right wing) of the forum and did not see anything of such getting postedâŚand immediately I felt like getting âhooked lined and sinkeredâ with the above video.

Suppose it is not directly related to only US politics, but I observe nothing much in the US media about the actual big thing and I must say I wonder why. Are they blind or is it just not sexy enough because it is not about how stupid Trump is or something stupid Trump says?

But buzz on US political twitter seems to be about regular US domestic nonsense, I note. Which is odd given that if the US strikes, this will be a much bigger attack than the previous one. And we are getting close to Show Time (i.e. strike assets costs a lot to have on high altert and in position and no one does it for weeks, which is why one could clearly see that Russia would likely invade with the naked eye, long before February 24).

Bizarre, appears to be completely fictional. Carney was in Tumbler Ridge on the weekend, and is in Montreal today (defence industrial strategy announcement). The last time he was in Washington was in October

(he also isnât the new negotiator, but the old one that they sent to talk to Ukraine after they invaded in 2022, and is of course not a flexible negotiator, but a guy they send to obstruct progress).

Mrs ROTW just missed her flight from FL to IND. She is with a group that has been doing humanitarian work in Guatemala this past week. When they got back to America they hit a brick wall. They were penned into a massive waiting room with loads of people from Guatemala and Colombia, and even for US citizens it took hours to get through passport control. Consequently they missed their connecting flight home, and now they are waiting in line to see what the options are. (I looked, and there are two more flights back to Indy tonight, both fully booked).
This was a diverse team of professionals - medical, engineering, teaching, plus a couple of recent college graduates who were cutting their teeth with this sort of thing - and they were doing worthy work with an impoverished and under served community. They were all looking forward to getting back home after a fulfilling trip, but still hard, and had dreams of hot baths and sleeping in their own beds this evening.
Instead they get back to Trumpâs racist America, where there were hardly any staff to process people coming back into the country, I suspect because they were coming from âundesirableâ nations.
In comparison to all the wrongs that are going on, this is just an inconvenience. They are resourceful people and they will all be quite fine, but since itâs hit our lives tonight Iâm passing comment on here. Iâm pretty sure the gutting of staff at the airport, plus the racist agenda in general, is behind the delay. Mrs ROTW was supposed to be home in about an hour and I have a well earned g&t at the ready, looking forward to hearing about her adventure, but it looks like it will be tomorrow.
