I donāt know, I think itās set aside from conservativeism. I mean most āproudā nations are predominantly conservative and France has always had strong conservative leanings (which meant they didnāt do much colonise, just not enough would go, more trading posts then domination).
Certainly France was conservative however never went to the lengths of Belgium or Germany.
The right is obsessed with mindless shows of machismo. There is a throughline from their love of CECOT, through the very existence of Hegseth as a public official with a microphone, to this sort of stupidity. a) The fact that the White House has issued a Lid on the press for the day issued at 11:08AM, meaning theyāve declared he wonāt be seen in public.
b) An anonymous post on Bluesky saying a road has been blocked off to the hospital
c) his absence from Mar-a-Lago during a weekend
d) His demented social media presence has been low
e) This is the least transparent administration in history.
The only way facts get out in this administration is through leaks and rumors, until theyāre finally confirmed.
