I didnât realise it was factual when I saw it yesterday. I suppose I found it too implausible. But it was toally plausible, so egg on my face.

- Garcia was deported without due process and in violation of a standing court order that he not be allowed to be sent back to El Salvador.
- After detainment and before his deportation the court again reiterated the government was not allowed to do it, but they did. And then laughed about it. As in publicly mocking that they had ignored the courts
- The government then made up a case for why he was a criminal but did not pursue it in the courts, it was all rhetorical.
- They only later pursued a criminal case against him, after he had already been illegally deported, claiming he was a gang member involved in human trafficking and put this case together with only the say so of a currently incarcerated Salvadorian gang member who had been found guilty of trafficking.
- They then started parole proceedings for the actual gang member as a thank you for his cooperation.
- A judge laughed the governmentâs case out of court arguing the accusations were implausible enough to be physically impossible
- At some point a government lawyer was axed for acknowledging Garcia was deported by mistake rather than him being the subject of a well enacted âmake america safe againâ policy.
- The government now officially admits it was all a big mistake.

No they didnât. Being here on a visa already has absolutely no bearing on a subsequent qualification for citizenship. You are just using words without knowing what any of them mean. But the fact they ultimately got citizenship demonstrates a path to getting it was available to them in a way that is much more limited for people here on TPS.
