Culture wars favor Republicans.
The Democratic brand is toxic because people - mainly working class people - view the Left as being arrogant and condescending, who talk down to them as if they are dumb rubes.
I have repeatedly said over and over and over again that left wing economic policies are actually quite popular in the US. But the Left has decided that culture war issues such as race, immigration, gender, etc take priority over economic issues. And if you dare contradict the strident ideological orthodoxy in the progressive movement, you’re cancelled.
The Left has become a political movement of hyper-educated urban elites, not the working class, at least in this country.
