The worst is that they don’t even see how much ridicule they put on themselves in the eyes of the world. If anyone anywhere was holding them in high regards before he came to power, that time is over. Everyone is laughing at them in disbelief on a regular basis now, and pitying the poor sods left in a minority, who don’t subscribe to Trump and co’s antics, like @Limiescouse, @RedOverTheWater and a few others on here.

I don’t understand why anyone pays attention to what he says anymore , including the press. He’s still setting the agenda even when he’s talking patent nonsense. They should just report what his administration is actually doing rather than the garbage that comes from his mouth.

Agreed. The only newsworthy part of any of it is from a “take a look at this fucking guy” angle, but the press are still far too deferential to him because of the position he holds despite him giving the position none of the same respect.

A significant portion of Americans don’t care. And not only in a passive way, but actively disdain the idea that they should care. Obama’s so called “apology tour” after first getting into office, a much needed attempt to heal relationships after the “you’re with us or against” attitude of the Bush er was seen as contemptible and unamerican by large segments of the population.

A good friend of mine here in Florida comes from a cattle ranching family. They are all angry, but not sure who they are supposed to be angry at because they cannot quite get around to targeting Trump, or even themselves for getting had again. My friends comment to her uncle was “you can own the libs, or you can own your farm. You cannot own both”

I do think it is hilarious that the deal that brought in beef thus enraging his beef farm supporters has also made such a strong argument for regulation and food safety systems.

I dont think anyone has been able to completely connect it yet, but there is a sequence of events that is really difficult to ignore
- Our costs are going through the roof because of Trump related nonsense
- Separately, China rejected a large amount of Argentinian beef after import inspections found it was tainted by an antibiotic even they ban because of human toxicty
- Shortly after, and I’m sure completely unrelated, Trump announces a trade deal with a mystery country/supplier that will be providing us a large influx of beef to prop up the supply help with costs. But they wont tell us where it is coming from.
There also appears to be some fuckery with how the BLM are managing the wild horse population in ways that make it seem like we’re going to soon have horse meat in our food supply masquerading as beef.

The DeSantis admin stole 10m in charity money meant for kids (kids healthcare at that) and illegally used it to fund political campaigns. The court have determined a crime was clearly committed. They have identified the collection of people involved, all the most powerful people in Florida politics. But they claim they cannot identify which of them specifically did what they are claiming that without someone putting their hand up to own the crime there is nothing the court can do so they are moving on.

Aaron’s point here to focus on is that ICE have limited resources. This is a large part of why focusing on people who have committed crimes while here is considered an effective policy choice. Here we are diverted finite resources away from that towards expelling people who were not even out of status before we starting picking a fight with them
